So I think that instead of repainting my blood angels and adding new units, that I will instead maybe do a counts as blood angels army not using marines. One friend suggested I use tau and make them samurai esk. Another had a similar idea about. Does anyone have any other good ideas/tips for me in this endevour. I've just gotten a huge modeling/painting bug, but Im' sick of marines.

How about a stormtrooper based gaurd army mounted in chimeras with leman russes with cannons from the hellhound kit as baal preadtors etc

hey guys, I already have an entire stormtrooper inquistorial IG army! So I wanna steer away from that. Yes I like the new sanguinary guard and I will but some, but I really want to try something different. I was thinking about making a khan army with space marines riding dinosaurs but I don't wanna spend the money for stegadons as landraiders

you can give them any kind of skill or gear as they have scavenged stuff and evolved to get the skill.

Why does it have to 'count as' Blood Angels?

Just do a Tyranid, Tau, Merc Kroot, Necron or Chaos army if you fancy a change.

Cause I have a blood angels army already and I figure I could sell it and make a new one out of completely different models. but you make a good point about playing other armies. Its one of those times where I wanna just do something cool but am not quite sure what I want to do. I was kinda inspired by the freman army I saw someone make here on Dakka. I'm not saying I'm anywhere near as talented but it seemed like a cool idea.

a new strain of Necrons with nonstandard weapons? The base stats already match a MEq, so modelling the weapons would be the only hard part.

Personally I'd go for Chaos (with heaps of conversions to avoid marine boredom) or Blood Axe Orks with looted guns and armour

Make a "Command and Conquer" themed guard army.

Or just make an army based on the units no one else likes or uses. Swooping hawks come to mind...or Ogryns...
