For taking best overall at a tourney, I was awarded a set of Etruscans from Gorgon studieos (http://www.gorgon-studios.com/shoppe/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_6).

I got around 16 of the 1st class hoplite models, 1 is a unit leader, 2 have pipes, and the rest are just shields and spears.

I was wondering if there was a historical game I could play with just those models, or perhaps buying only a few more.

But knowing nothing about historical mini games I am left in the dark... so figured why not ask on the interweb

Congratulations!

You could certainly use them for a skirmish game. I would be very surprised if you couldn't find some rules for that, though I don't know any myself.

If you want to play a mass battle game with a small number of figures, the best choice is De Bellis Antiquitatis. Every army has 12 units (bases) and your figures you have now would count for nearly five of them. Heavy infantry have four figures per base.

The DBA book contains the army lists. I don't know what Troop types are in the Etruscan list. It probably has some lighter troops for which you use fewer figures per base.

Here is a great website about DBA.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
