started work on my mono Tizz whfb army today, with the general, Kairos. 7 hours of gluing, putty and pinning work later and im half done assembly. took me forever to get the wings in place, but they finally held. the heads were much simpler, requiring only some pinning, then some putty work. i used some skulls from a maruder standard to help conceal the putty since my sculpting skills are almost nill. the arm also had to be reposistioned and bent so it didnt look like the right head was eating it. anyway, pics below, and more to come! questions comments and critiques welcome.

One of my favorite models. I've been hankering to start a Tzeentch/Nurgle army, but I want to finish one of my green skin armies first

I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Excellent! I quite like the GW Lord of Change, unlike Forge World's 'turkey man' take on it.
Keep up the good work!

finally finished the modeling portion of this guy. im not sure if this is a defect or not, but i was rather surprized to discover that the feet of this model dont line up to its base, are seperate (each leg is 1 piece) and the main leg dosent have a support peg to actually insert into the base itself! In any case, after some doing i managed to finally secure this bad boy to his base in a flamingo pose, using his staff and some tricky putty and bitz work to make sure he stayed put. in any event, im going to let it try for a night then prime and start painting. in the mean time.....

PICS!

the kairos model finished and painted, its time to move on to the next choice...the heros. since i dont have horrors to work on the scribes, nor a sutable disc model, i set to work on my heralds. both of wich have the winged horror upgrade. since i am at a lacking for bits i decided to just throw a bunch of spawn bits together to see what i could come up with.... and here are the results. not too shabby methinks. comments pls and thankyou.

finished the second herald today, as well as finally finished up my first unit of pink horrors. the horrors are very clearly WE dryads, wich ive simply painted pink... but, with a box of 5 costing an insane amount of $, being metal and limited avalability at the FLGS, i decided to go the less expensive route of the dryads. they look demonic enough, and when fully painted present a nice striking image. also, ive included pics of the horror my wife painted. shes been begging me to paint a model, but everytime i offer she insists on painting it pink... needless to say ive declined her offer. untill now. with some suggestions and pointers she solo painted one of the horrors, and it blends almost perfect with the rest of the unit! she did decide to sign the base, and i just couldnt bear to cover it up, so i have a single horror with a signed base. it will be the units "champ". in anycase, PICS!

Today i started work on my blue scribes. i decided to continue my conversion theme, and went with the empire battle wizards as my base, since i wanted them to look somewhat old school wizardy-ish, but some conversion work to make them demonic. the disc is simply a pair of flying bases glued together, with WE tree bits stuck on the edges and base. (these will be painted like fire). the scribes themselves are converted to look like one is recording the spells, and i made him to appear "thiefy". the other is more demonic, simply using the burning head from the battle wizzard set, and some dryad pieces for the arms. i will probally begin painting them tonite. also, thanks for everyone whos commented so far! i love to get comments and it keeps me motivated to keep posting new pics and progress reports.

i finished painting the blue scribes finally. they took about 3 hours each (for each the disc and each of the scribes). they didnt turn out as vivid as i would have liked, but i wanted to keep the blue tone a tad darker then the herald, as they are a slightly darker type of creature. the part i did rather enjoy painting was the book...and i added a little bit of irony to it. i hope its visible as i think it is... anyway pics!

A nice, interesting take on the scribes. Very different to what I have seen before. I'm not quite sure what the irony is though. Is the book meant to be the Daemon army book? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

Hmm, Hobbit is right. Maybe some GS work on the book will make it daemonic.

Neat idea with the book. I like it. And the scribes idea is original as Hobbit said. Kairos is pretty slick you have there and the dryad to daemon conversion is not only something i haven;t seen before but executed well. Well done.

Finally completed my next addition to the army...screamers! i lucked out and located an old box of 5, so i didnt have to purchase 2 of the 3 packs....and since it was an "old" box i got a good deal on price. these models are amazing to work with, simple to build and fun to paint. the lack of embedded detial and lots of surface area let me practise my blending skills...and i think they turned out rather well. anyway pics! next up i plan on padding my horrors, and adding some flamers. will post pics of the entire army to date soon.

Yesterday i went out and purchased some neat new bits...and they are so amazing i decided that im going to re-do everything. so, after about 8 hours of smashing, prying, hacking and sawing i was able to dis-assemble everything...now comes the rebuild! i need to figure out what im doing exactly, but i think something in the khorne meets pokemon or something of the like.....although im not sure how to get high elves to look khorney... any suggestions?
