Great rules.

They have a really nice feel to them and the fact you can modify units to get a historical/period feels makes it brilliant for clubs with different periods but wanting a single set of rules.

We use them for Napoleonics, AWI, ACW, Sudan and now Second Afghan War.

Not really... You have a problem building in rules for pikes, though people have done it and I believe Warlord Games are working on an ECW variant at the moment.

Certainly the system, based on Warmaster, will handle it once you have the right mechanism to represent pike, especially versus cavalry.

I would say 1700 is the earliest you can get away with, without having to modify the rules.

awesome game . thats how i like to do it. im a big fan of the black powder rules . great beautiful book with quick easy fun rules . ive been doing napoleonics with it due to all the cool plastic figs out from victrix and the perrys . also im getting ready to do zulu wars with it to . great stuff keep on posting my friend !
