hello every one.
i have a very old 1990s starter painting set and already used up all money on buying the new ork range....
my question is regarding painting...
i know that the GW paints are water based acrylic paints is it advisable to use some other brand of acrylic paints on the models?
have any of you ever used other acrylic paints that one gets at art supply stores on the models.....
I am asking this because im a painter and i have alot of good quality acrylic paints lying about .....please advise.

I use a lot of Apple Barrel and P3 paints. I use the Reaper Black Primer and their Black and Brown Wash.

I use mostly GW paints, but for colors like Black and White I tend to use a cheaper artists acrylic and have no problems. I am not an artist so I don't know anything about acrylics but the windsor and newton galeria acrylics in a tube have been working fine for me, with a liberal mixing with water. I think you'll be fine with whatever you have.

Yeah you can use them.
Just use water and acrylic mediums to get a nice consistency. It may be worthwhile preparing batches and storing in airtight containers.
I have noticed no real difference when using artist acrylics over acrylic paints for models.

Yeah craft paint is fine.
I find it to be ALOT thicker and you will have trouble with drop size for mixing.
I suggest putting some floaid in a small dropper bottle with the paint that way you can get a little better paint mixing control.
I also notice sometimes the craft paints can have a chalky appearance.

Rule number one is mix acrylics only with acrylics.
Rule number two is not to dilute too much with water.
If you use the artists paints which come in a tube, you need to dilute them with a mixture of water and acrylic medium or they will not set properly.
