So, I'm looking to run BA for an Escalation League at my FLGS. Each game will increase the points values by 400 points, up to a finale of 2000 points. The first game has the FOC restriction of 1 HQ, 1 Troop, 0+ Fast Attack. After the first game, there are no other FOC restrictions. So, for my first 400 point game, I'm looking at running one of the following two lists.
Either:
- Librarian w/ Jump Pack w/ Blood Lance, Shield of Sanguinius
- Assault Squad w/ 5 men, 1 Melta Gun
- Vanguard Veteran Squad w/ Jump Packs
Or:
- Librarian w/ Jump Pack w/ Unleash Rage, Shield of Sanguinius
- Honor Guard w/ Jump Packs
- Assault Squad w/ 5 men, 1 Melta Gun
With the first list, my thought would be to Deep Strike everything against a single target, shooting w/ the Assault Squad and Blood Lance, then assaulting with the Vanguard Vets. The second list would be similar in that everything would DS against a target, shooting the target after they land, but then preparing to accept a charge (but having FNP and Unleash Rage to better take care of a charge against them). Then assaulting the following turn.
Which do folks think would be a better Escalation list?
