Deff-rollas got changed to working against vehicles, so use those. Ram the Landraider for D6 S10 hits. You can also use a Warboss/Nob with a PK via a Boarding Plank. Other than that, Tank Busta bombs work in a pinch although most people don't use them because they are difficult to control.

You know, I wonder. With the new deffrolla ruling, a lot of people say Deffrollas are the vehicle cureall. but are they really better than the old ram/boarding plank/power klaw combo?

Where is this posted that they work against vehicles? I guess I haven't been able to find anything definitive.

Ork FAQ/Errata. Look in YMDC for a link (sorry for not having one )

Powerklaws krump vehicles good, but landraiders not so good. Deff rollers, as mentioned, are pretty good for Landraiders. Works well on burna wagons

My friend (who collects Orks) ha had huge success with running a large (20 strong) shoota boy squad with a PK Nob. Most of his opponents don't see the harm in letting them get close to their mech lines, then bam, many dead tanks, including landraiders. Also a warboss with PK also works a treat, his has blown up aprx. 4 monoliths to date xD

Just make sure to give the Power Klaw Warboss an Attack Squig and you'll get 6 s10 attacks on the charge

The amount of S4 power claws you can sneak into an Ork army is plain scary, I know the odds are a bit long but enough hits and you'll do the damage

Basically, I rely on Warbuggies to corral an enemy Land Raider's movement to make it easier to hit. Then I send as many Bike units as possible to attrition it in hopes of a glance. Additionally, I bring 2 to 3 empty Ard Case Deffrolla Wagons with Big Shoota or two to prevent Immobilization.

I love how everyone keeps talking about the "change" to deffrollas working against vehicles., when in reality it has been RAW since 5th came out...it has just finally been clarified in the FAQ.

As for LRs...PKs (especially Warboss PKs), Rollas, Kans/Dreads. Unfortnately this means that you don't really have any good options for taking out LRs at range. You must close with a LR to kill it.

That and the big problem is it's not the Land Raider that's scary (though a Redeemer with Multi-melta is mean) but it's what's inside said Land Raider. Be it Black Templar Terminators with Lightning Claws and Furious Charge, or Vulkanized Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield Terminators, they're scary against Orks.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Land Raiders:

They want to be close to you, just like you want to be close to them - they come with mean stuff inside, which is close range death. My battlewagons all have a deffrolla, boarding plank, and grabbin' klaw.

Movement phase: I ram the Land Raider, hoping D6 STR10 hits will kill it.
Assault Phase: I boarding Plank the Land raider, with 4-7 more STR9-10 hits, depending on who is inside.
Enemy Movement Phase: If I haven't managed to kill it yet, I'll grabbin' klaw it to hold it still for my next turn, so I auto-hit it.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

The main lesson is to not obsess over the landraider. The worst thing you can do is concentrate fire on it, hoping for glances or other long-shots, when there's other targets available. That's playing right into your opponent's hands. In general, destroy everything BUT the landraider as soon as possible. Hitting on 5s, glancing on 6s is not the key to success, so pound those razorbacks, rhinos, landspeeders, etc. with your rokkits first and use your maneuver to keep away from the landraider. If your opponent disembarks from the LR, then shoot the guys that come out before wasting shots at the tank. If you have absolutely nothing else to shoot, then fine, toss odd rokkits at the LR and hope for a lucky strike.

Meanwhile, it's going to be closing in on you to deliver some nasty assault squad, but that's fine. As soon as it's within short range, nail it with the deffrolla, powerklaws, dreadnought CCWs, and the like. If possible, surround the access points to either annihilate the guys inside with a wreck, or force them to emergency disembark and do nothing the next turn.
