Hey everyone!! I've recently begun collecting a traitor guard army, and I want to start painting!!

I one have one problem, and it's one I've never encountered in my Tabletop career... I have no idea how to paint them!

Most of them are loyal to Nurgle, but there are some of Tzeentch and some Slaanesh-oriented units as well... so, what I'm thinking is a uniform colored... uniforms... (i.e. the same scheme for the whole army)

The only color I know for sure is 'rotting flesh' equivalent for the base on the skin... other than that...

So... what do you all think? Throw out some color schemes!!!

The general uniform color should be sort of neutral, and bland... Gray, Tan camo, some sort of muted color. This will help the colors of the different powers stand out some.

Well probably my favorite Traitor Guard models (sorry infilTRAITOR) are done by Dave Taylor (http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.com/), his stuff is done up in a deep red complimented by chaos symbols done in a tan or white color. Here's one of his Russ':

Personally, I've always liked a black armor look, with squads and groups showing their allegiance to their patron god through painting the hard armor the corresponding colours.
Can't wait to see some pictures!

What i've done for my Nurgle guard is Rotting Flesh on Fatigues with a light wash of Thrakka Green, followed by Devlin Mud. I paint the armor Scorched Earth with a wash, followed by rust weathering on the armor. Try it out. Looks amazing.

Thanks guys, what do you think about Black for the hard armor, gray for the cloth bits, with glowing runes picked out on the hard armor, showing the units godly alignment? Would that work with the fairly light (almost dead looking and almost green) skin I have in mind?

So what do you think of this? The face would be covered by a gas-mask, but there are other troops that show more bare skin, and this was the general scheme for the whole army.
I was also thinking that I would distinguish which troops belong to which god with glowing symbols on the shoulder pads.
