Hia,

I was just thinking how best to deploy a DP and i have a couple of questions....

1) If a DP has "wings" can it therefore Deep Strike?
2) As it is a Demon, can it assault after Deep Strike like lesser deamons can?
2)(a) - if this is the case, does it therefore need an Icon to be able to Deep Strike?

I think i know the answers to be yes, no and no but i just wanted to check.

1) This is a hotly debated issue and people on both sides believe that the RAW supports their point of view. If you're playing somewhere using the INAT then you know you can Deep Strike your Daemon Prince, but in any other situation you're going to have to discuss it with your opponent before the game and come to a resolution.

2) & 2A) Absolutely not. The Daemon summoning rules are clearly written as to what units they apply to, and Daemon Princes are not one of them.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

The wings in the wargear section on page 85 of the CSM codex do specifically allow you to deepstrike. I dont think that the wording is that specific anywhere else though.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?
