er.... did you paint that background by yourself weety? looks like canvas to me... very good!

and that eye of terror background is very good looking...captures a lot of emotion!!!

but for me the tripwire pic is just priceless... i like pics that come in a scenic way... there should be a thread to show all such pics... like you would have seen in the old times movie news...

as for the minis...i am hammering at my mind as to what is your better style... realsitic looking or colorful... i haven´t reached a decision yet^^

Cheers all. I really enjoyed doing these - they're fun and make me wish I had more illustrated fact-books. Something with pictures of ruined gothic cathedrals and industrial buildings. I will probably print some stuff off the net soon cos I don't have room for more books.

I'm afraid I didn't paint that one vic; the photo has some grain to it as it had to travel 227939100 km to get to us!

Gitsplitta - yeah I don't think my choice of 'camo' for these guys makes sense unless you put them in their martian context.

Well I could resort to the old "book tower" method but Its hazardous when navigating the room to have teetering piles everywhere. There is no shelf-space left thats for sure...

Delicious flavoured backgrounds! NOMnomnom.

What shall I paint now? The eternal question. As I got paid recently I allowed myself the luxury of buying a pit slave with disk-cutter and a can of army painter primer - see if I cant get a smoother finish on the figures with a professional spray

Ooh, fresh mini's on the way.

And yes, you can't even contemplate beginning to start moaning about a lack of book space if you don't have book piles looking like the underhive filling the floor space.
Having said that, one of my projects this year is to build a bookcase for all the large books in the living room. If I plan it right I reckon I can create some display space for some mini's too. Those are very definitely short of space.

I'll have to do a step by step sometime. Bases might be something I need pointers on... Very lazy when it comes to basing, I am.

Here is the results of the fairy power spray, which smells of lemons and doesn't cause as much mess as dettol. I made this guy for gitsplitta and he may get some GS work bits yet..

I wonder what chapter gits would like?

I am considering recreating my blog over here at dakka. The forum I started on is a new forum, and there just isn't any traffic there.

I'm having to pin my zoanthrope. He sat on the desk for a week, a nice painted model, looking good. Then I sat down two nights ago and noticed he was leaning to the left. So I just cut him off and am trying to decide if I want to just use a piece of brass rod and use it straight from the thrope to the base, or... and this is more interesting, possibly, if it works...

I have an old flying base I planned to use for something. One of the land speeder ones. The base itself is painted black but the rod is still clear. I could drill down into the middle of the rod, pin that to the thrope with brass rod, and then just have one small part of it being painted black, and the rest being clear. What do you think might be more jarring, for one black rod from the bottom of the zoanthrope to the base, or only a small part of it? Because that might look like a floating rod.

Destiengass - I'm confused, is it books your suggesting I box up? If it is then thats a good plan. If I leave them under the bed for 10 years or so then I should have forgotten most of what was in them - plus they will have that rosy tint of nostalgia.

Icy feet tonight! brrrrr. Maybe I should make a hobo stove and burn the books for warmth! (kidding).

valhalla - I would probably use the flying base bit myself. Neither is a perfect solution. In a perfect would they would just float using magnets or something

Definitely more traffic round here - the league of extraordinary riveters will surely ramble all over your thread if you put it over here.

Yes, the box idea was for books. I have more regrets from selling a bunch of books than I do from selling my first IG army attempts, honestly.

Rabid ramblers with talent - that makes a difference

Those RT beakers clean up nice with simple green. But te models are so basic they do need some extra details IMO. And very, very thin layers of paint heh.

I.... would like to be surprised. My only request is that you paint it in that wonderful, RT style that you've got. Since that's what 'eavy metal spreads looked like when I started gaming. It would be wonderful to have an example of the style in my own collection.

Nice pose weets... Will have to find a special place for him amongst the brethren.
