I wanted to create a nice swamp terrain piece for my Warmachine boards. I have made some of these in the past but with much more crude techniques- so I wanted to "take it to the next level". I could have become even more detail oriented in creating realistic foliage(etc.), but I wanted a functional game piece that could also taking a beating. The project was a simple one using the following materials:

-hardboard(1/8") (for the base)
-spackle a.ka.a. "filler"(for embankment)
-twigs(for downed trees)
-small stones(for rocks)
-dress pins and green stuff(for cattails)
-make-up brush strands(for field grass)
-green stuff(for lily pads)
-sand/kitty litter mix(for dirt texture)
-Envirotex Lite(for water effect)

Wow, awesome terrain, not to hard to make as long as you have the materials, great turtorials too.

That is one sweeeeet piece of terrain there. I really like the Cat tails, and lilly pads. It goes a long way of selling the piece.

Quick question, if i watered down pva a bit then put over the puddle i painted and ard' coated it, would it look any thing like how water effects come out?

Sometimes when you do that, the pva can crack and stuff.
