The War Between the States !

May 22nd at the Big GunZ Battle Bunker, in the Granite Run Mall

A no-holds-barred slugfest to decide who will hold the coveted trophy for it's first year!

Jointly run by the Inner Circle and BigGunz-NE gaming clubs. Hosted by Showcase Comics in Media, PA. at the Granite Run Bunker.

Southern Team Captains: Tom Gruhala and Scooter
Northern Team Captains: Mike Ludwig and John Mattews
Tournament Organizer: Mike Clark

Format: Players will register for the event from either the Southern or Northern teams. The Southern team will be be composed of players who live in Deleware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and parts south. The Northern team will be composed pf players who live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and parts north. In the event of a player who lives in one area but who is a member of a club that is pre-dominately from the other opposite area, they may play with their clubmates, but should notify the TO or Team Captains of this. Each team will be given 26 slots to fill. Players will need to register on the website at www.BigGunz-NE.com to reserve a space. We will limit signup for each team to 26 slots until May14th. At that time, if the other team hasn't filled up all its space, those slots can go to the other team. Event is limited to 52 players total. If player registrations indicate that we will have more than 52 players, we may expand the event to 80 players. This will be done by May 7th.

Each player will play three games of Warhammer Fantasy Battle with a 2250 point army. Special Characters are allowed. Army lists from all current books, Dogs of War, and Chaos Dwarf list from Ravening Hordes may be used. Appendix lists, Storm or Chaos, Albion, or Lustria may not be used. Ogre Kingdoms and Dogs of War may use Rhinox Cavalry. No army may take Dogs of War units as allies. All models must be painted and based. Conversions must start as GW models and be composed 75% of of GW components, or scratch built components. Inappropriate, or unpainted models will be removed, and you will not be allowed to use them. If you have a question about a model, please contact Mike Clark at Mikenjudyc@aol.com with any questions, or call the shop at 610-891-9229. Team Captains are responsible for making sure their players show up with appropriate models and painted armies.

Note that their is no comp score or army guidelines, it's a grudge match, so bring a hard army. But know your rules, have the appropriate models, and don't be a git. There is no sportsmanship score, but poor sports will not be tolerated. This will be enforced by all 4 Team Captains and the TO. Deliberately playing slow will not be tolerated, and you will only be warned once.

Players should bring 5 copies of their lists. (Please, make copies before you come, we cannot do this the day of.) You must also bring your own dice, tape measure, rule book, army book, and FAQ if you need one.

Scoring is 20pts for each of the 3 games with Massacre=20, Major victory=17, Minor Victory=13, Tie=10. Painting and Appearance will be worth 20 points. Max of 80 points possible in the tournament. Bonus points for scenarios may be added. Scenarios, if any are used, may or may not be posted ahead of time, at the discretion of the TO and Team Captains. Painting will be judge scored by the checklist that is normally used at the Granite Run Bunker events and will be posted online.

Match ups will be done North vs. South for all 3 games. First round will be random, or another method agreed to by the Team Captains. 2nd and 3rd rounds both teams will be arranged by scores in previous rounds with No. 1 for the South playing No. 1 for the North, etc. In the event of ties, players will be arranged randomly. If there is an uneven amount of players, some players may play people from their own side.

Prizes Include:

Best Painting, and best painting from the opposing side.
Best General, and best general from the opposing side.
Best Overall, and best overall from the other side.
2nd and 3rd best overall after the best from each side.

And the Trophy for the winning side, which will be on display for the next year at either the Glen Burnie Bunker, or stay at the Granite Run Bunker. This will be determined by taking the top 10 scores from each side, and totalling them up.
