Hi All,

I play games that hover around 750pt-1000pt range and I'm looking for something a little different from my usual armies (CSM & Necrons). I really want to make a fun Ork list with as much crazy/unpredictable stuff as I can jam in there... Shokk Attack guns, Zogwort, that kind of madness... But at the same time, I'd love it to be at least semi-respectable on the table.

I'm so used to playing high-valued MEQ stuff, the sheer scope even at 750pts for Orks has blown my mind! Any suggestions would be greatly appeciated!

The models that do "random" things are Weirdboyz, Shokk Attack Gun Meks, Trukks, Looted Wagons, and Stormboyz. Mix and match, I guess. Grots are always fun, and I love the idea of a Mad Dok Grotsnik Cyber-Grot army.

Stick the Warphead in a shoota squad and pray for Waaaghs across the board while your Trukk mobs get stuck in and your Zzap Guns provide cover.

Hmm, interesting so far. A lot of my gaming group play with powerful characters though... I regularly come up against Hive Tyrants, Lysander, Typhus, that kind of thing... I was really hoping to cram Zogwort in there just for that chance I could turn them into Squigs!

For a 750pt list, Zogwort is about twice as many points as I'd want to spend on an HQ.

zogwort is full in my small orc army as is snikrot and 15 commandos for full randomness , stormboys next i feel , just pic anything you like the look of mate orks are pretty forgiving

I think if any list can afford to blow points on a fat HQ it's Orks though, right? Everything else is so damn cheap!

Fat HQ's break Ork's cardinal rule: Boyz before Toyz. The more points you spend on an HQ, the less bodies you can put on the field. Yes, things are cheap, but you want to exploit that as much as possible.

I usually only run a little over 10% of my points in HQ. For my 1500 point Kan Wall, I have 2 KFF Big Meks for 170pts.

Ahh ok, that makes sense I guess, interesting way to look at it. I've been mocking up lists with Zogwort in, or with two Shokk Attack Guns, I must admit it leaves the rest of the force a little... Insubstantial...

Yeah, the points necessary to run Zogwort takes almost 10 boyz out of the list. That means after one or two wounds to any squad, you lose fearless.
