"If you decide to attack a war-machine, it counts as weaponskill 0 and is therefore hit automatically"
"The Foebane wounds all models with 2 or more wounds on a 2+"

Can I do it?

crew lines up infront of the warmachine so you attack the crew. If your talking about a specific type then state that.

Then why would they put the blurb about being able to attack the war-machine in the BRB?

if the crew is wiped out by shoot or flee for some reason the machine is still there. So if its un-maned then you could attack it. Thats why the placed in rules for it.

This could be useful against STanks as well as other war machines that don't have attack able crew However if the Skaven book is any indication on how war machines will be in the future then the war machine will have a combined profile for simplicity.

Also (, not that people need to do this), you can multi-charge the unit. Any unit attacking the flank or rear would be able to attack the war-machine directly.

And once the crew is wiped out, isn't there something about the war machine being destroyed if you overrun or something?

yep.

I mean, I know the rules are clear, if you're not touching it you can't fight it, when we're talking about combat anywhere else.

The inclusion of the language in the War-Machines section seems to belie that there's a different situation here, and perhaps the war-machine combat rules are different, and simply not articulated well. I just don't think they ever considered this scenario in their combat rules
