I was wondering if anyone else uses the system with different models, my friends and i do play flames of war however we use 10mm models, mostly from www.pendraken.co.uk

Personally i like the scale difference, i think it looks better on a 6' x 4' board, things just look more natural. Also we have been able to create some very good urban and countryside boards using railway cardboard models which look really good completed, easy to model and are pretty much dirt cheap. I will hopefully get some pictures up of our battlefield soon, as well as my various armies.

Though its the cost that really does it for me, we like 2000point battles, and well in 10mm i was able to put together an American mechanised army for around £90, if i had done the same with flames of war miniatures it would have cost me about £300, to me that is a huge difference.

It means with my Germans for about the same money i would spend on 2000pts of flames of war miniatures i have ended up with around 6000pts of all kinds of units to mix and match with in 10mm.

Does anyone else use alternatives?

Used to have hundreds of 10mm along time ago, Skytrex mainly, dont think they do 10mm anymore.

Given that the ranges and movement in Flames of War are a bit abstracted, I think it would work fine.

Being able to use N scale model railroad stuff is a big bonus to 10mm (Although there are a fair number of people making nice 15mm terrain now that is not outrageously expensive)
