Well, the FLGS is starting up a GM campaign that will run through the summer and I am thinking of getting into it with my pile-O-leftover Orks that I have sitting around. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good starting mob tips, tricks ect ect and any power combos to work towards.

Most of us around these parts have just plain grown tired of standard 40k and Gw's constant "Here is a new codex that completly invalidates your army" syndrome.

So to counter this us vets are dusting off our old models and books and starting out on a fresh trek down that old road.

I love this game! My Diggaz were nigh unstoppable back in the day.

The Eavy Shoota (i believe thats what it was called) for the trukk is the best option for a heavy weapon.

also, trukks are nice but trakks are also nice and a tiny bit cheaper. armour isn't really worth it either because most of the time it gets negated in close combat and while being shot at.

all the bells and crazy equipment is nice but most of the time its about how many bodies you can field in the game to carry scrap and if you can outnumber your enemy in close combat.

I love this game. Its what sucked me into the table top hobby. Bodies are definitly the key. Good luck.

My Current Mob:

Nob:
Blunderbuss, Choppa, Flak Ar

Spanner:
Slugga , Choppa, Flak Ar

Boy:
Slugga , Choppa, Flak Ar

Boy:

Trukk:
Scorcha

Played my first two back to back "test" games with my mob.

Game one turn one my opponent went first turn and managed to get a luck shot with a Trukk Mounted Rokkit to my engine and blew up my Trukk before I even had a chance to move... which resulted in my Boys looking at each other before running off the board infront of the oncomming trukk.

Second game, I managed to go first and boosted my green ass into flamer range and let loose a volly of burning death into his overcrowded trukk. Takeing OOA his driver and nob. He then failed his test to regain control of the vehicle and it crashed into impassable terrain scattering burning boys left and right.

Result:

The Scorcha rocks if you can get it into range. The 4+ ammo roll every time you fire it though, means that It very well could be a 1 shot weapon.

The blunderbuss hits often, but hits about as hard as a drunk grot. Thinking of replaceing it with the Kannon instead.

Sure:
Yoofs are cheaper than boyz for the initial purchase. The Skorcha requires 0 skill shooting and is pretty good at racking up wounding hits. In the course of one, maybe two, games that yoof is a fully fledged boy.

It's a cheap way to get a bump for a dude with no xp. Granted, the advancements might/might not pan out exactly as you want them to.
