Glendale / the Valley / Westside are all good but I'm looking for some people to get a game going with in LA proper. Meaning between Hollywood and Wilshire and surrounding areas.
Preferably evening games but can work with what works for you.
Cheers!

You would be surprised. Most people play East or South of LA. If you ever go to Westminster, you might be able to talk me into a game at the Bunker...

I'm looking for folks who would be into playing a game after I get off of work, because I have friends in burbank to play against but by the time I get over there and set up its already sleep time.
Anyone local out there?!

I play at a friends house near McCambridge park, we have a pretty cool city of death terrain set up and do 1500 pt games every other week or so. I'm just looking for something closer to where I live which is the hollywood area.
I've read about Emerald Knights on dakka, and it sounds cool, its just the hours are not very forgiving.
Is it a store or whats the deal with EK?

yeah they're hours aren't very great if you can only get out there after work, but its great on the weekends. Emerald Knights is a gaming/ comic book store, its no GW store, but its got plenty of tables you can use and my local group, the green guardm has plenty of terrain we would be willing to share. the people there are great, theres plenty of space, overall its awesome.

What's Emerald Knights' terrain / gaming area looking like? Does anyone have any pictures / descriptions?
I'm looking for quality of terrain and types of armies / skill level of armies that play there.

*ahem* Having contributed the half-dozen foam-core/masonite pieces of terrain (yeah, I'm Casey) nearly doubling what's available, I'd say EK lacks in terrain. A lot. I was there today as CrazyThang & J setting up for the tourney and cracking jokes about the lack thereof for the 4 tables.
When Jimmy ran a RTT a couple months ago, there was unpainted packing styrofoam on table #6.
@tidr:
The couple times of played at EK, I brought my own terrain. Nice place and just a minor hop over Cahuenga Pass. I'm in North Hollywood. EK is closest to me, with GW Glendale, then Game Empire in Pasadena.
@Joetaco:
Take a trip out to Game Empire and see what's there. *That's* the level of terrain that should be available. They can *fully* terrain 10 tables, and easily stretch further.
I'll talk to CT&J about some cheap solutions to adding terrain.
edit: Ah, duh. That was *you*, F-J, crackin' jokes. Okay. My bad.
Still, we'll work on adding some terrain, eh?

Solid 6x4 wood laid on the Costco type tables. Folding chairs.
The game area is up above the comic shop proper. Nice and airy. Well lit.
Drinks & packaged snacks available for purchase.
Like I said, terrain is a little thin.
Get more from Joetaco on who plays often ... I keep missing the usual Green Guard crowd ...
'Course, you could schedule something with me. I'm a 5 year vet and have a couple different armies. Not a WAAC guy. PM me if you want to arrange something.
@Joetaco:
I forget. You beat my eldar army a while back, yes? Close game, as I recall ... err, Tyler has the eldar, huh?

I just moved to Hermosa Beach (I think that’s a part of the South Bay?) did not realize LA was so sprawling until I got here!!! GTA V lead me to believe I could drive to the desert in 6 minutes...

That's the thing about LA, it covers a pretty immense area. I'm in LA but moreso down in the south bay area. Even getting to the battle bunker can take half an hour and I think they downsized it, but luckily a store opened up in manhattan beach. I'm just glad to see people in LA playing these games at all though, gl.

Game Empire in Pasadena has a very healthy 40k scene. Great store, too!
