New starter set looks awesome!

Wondering if the 'Channeling the River' card hints at the Sword Elf being a glimpse at Lumineths Water temple faction (Initially, I got all excited thinking we were getting an Idoneth team).

That's a pretty good guess, yes. The River Temple is mentioned in the army book as slashing throats open in a fluff blurb.

Ho boy! Slaanesh stuff in a starter set!
I can die in peace now.

Jokes aside, these look fantastic,
I cannot wait to see the models.

I'm not too excited about the new starter set - it's a maybe - it can't be worse than Beastgrave I guess.

I am SUPER excited about the Lizardmen box though. It's so beautiful to see a modern chameleon skink sculpt, they've needed redone for ages.

My new hopes for the Lizardmen box - A skink priest, his two Saurus bodyguards and the chameleon skink. I think that'd be a pretty nice balanced group.

That's what I'm hoping for two- I'd be sad if we only got one warrior.

In general though, of all the preview stuff these sets are the ones I'm most excited for. I'm really curious what the other boxes will be.

Pft. The Chameleon Skinks really only needed one thing:
To be in plastic. The design's fairly solid for them.

Hopefully the box will be a Kroxigor, Eternity Warden, a Skink Priest on foot, and a Chameleon Skink.

Gives you a brawler, a guardian, mage, and hunter/rogue!

C’mon Cities of Sigmar band. Gimme a D&D party in the Underworlds; fighter, mage, rogue, ranger, priest, and neither caster is the Leader.

I'm hoping for good human mortals, but I would so much rather they left the cities of Sigmar behind and gave us new human cultures...

I'd love to see for order humans what happened to chaos humans in warcry...

Check the main rulebook then. It shows you.

Unfortunately, those "new human cultures" were mostly destroyed during the Age of Chaos. Their descendants are the folks in the Cities of Sigmar.

That chameleon skink is just perfect!

There will probably be a Saurus, but I'd love of they could squeeze in a Kroxigor instead (maybe with just another skink). Probably dreaming, though

I don't have the main rulebook, as I don't play AoS- I use the models I like for games more to my taste.

As far as it.goew though, I don't think that cities of Sigmar matters, if I'm honest. GW have proven that they aren't beholden to what was written in the background to limit AoS development, which is a very good thing.

Been wanting a Deepkin band for a while, and more recently Bonereapers as well. Maybe this season!

I take you never actually saw one? Take a look at GW website, the design is so "solid" that even expert GW painters didn't manage to lipstick that pig. Easily one of the worst miniatures in AoS range.

The new ones actually look like Chameleons, the hind 'hands' looked weird for me at first, but now that I look at old ones, there is really no comparison.

Yeah the old sculpts have not aged well (not helped by very average paint jobs)

No contest for me.

Having actually painted them for a commission, the old sculpts have aged better than the beasts.

1 wound fighters should get more upgrade.

4 Wound fighters generally seem to be the best choice.

None, that I can recall.

I guess it's just futureproofing in case they release someone later. It'll have to be something extremely weedy though.

Snotling mob confirmed!

Seriously though, Skinks were T2 back in the day so maybe them?

But now I want a snotling warband with like a dozen dudes and a rule that lets you have three per hex or something.

Really excited to see the rest of that Lizardmen warband. And the rest of season 4.
Hoping the season 1 warbands don’t get left behind in ability too much. They’re the ones I have all of.
Though I did just grab Rippa, Zarbag and the Godsworn too.
(And I do really love Mollog, Hrothgorn and the Wurmspat warbands, not that I need any more as I’m hardly playing. Just can’t get enough of collecting..).

Nice to see that Sepulchral Guard getting such a boost but some of that stuff looks like its going straight on the FAR list. Not overly sold on the boards (but as a Gitz player anything with out adjacent starting hexes was never going to fly) but damn me some of those cards are going to be good.

Dont think I will ever play the actual game though unless on the lunch break at a tournament, looks fun enough but most people I play with would rather just get in a normal game.

Strange that one warband would be upgraded like this.

The other relevant part is all the Combo enablers.

The word going around on various media is that they plan to have a warband per AOS battletome by seasons end. We know Seraphon, Lumineth and Hedonites are coming. Remaining factions without warbands are Bonereapers, Deepkin and Cities of Sigmar and they release 6-8 bands per season. Expect to see a Sigmarite one (maybe a rerelease of Cursebreakers and Thorns of the Briarqueen from season 2) and that could be it.
