As of right now, it will either be this or something close to it...

HQ - Rune Priest w/Murderous Hurricane & Jaws = 100
HQ - Rune Priest w/Living Lightning, Jaws, & Plasma Pistol = 115
HQ - Wolf Priest = 100
HQ - Ragnar Blackmane = 240

ELI - Wolf Scouts w/Melta Bombs, 2 w/Pwr Weapons. (Led by a WG w Pwr Fist) = 168

ELI - Wolf Guard Pack (10 total with 6 leading packs) The remaining 4 w/Pwr Fist & Combi-Melta X2, Close Combat Weapon & Combi-Melta X1, Close Combat Weapon & Bolt Pistol X1. Pack mounted in a Drop Pod = 162

Troop - Grey Hunters (8) w/Mark of the Wulfen, Melta Gun, Wolf Standard, Pwr Sword. Led by a Wolf Guard w/Pwr Fist & Combi-Melta. Pack mounted in a Rhino w/Ex Armor = 258

Troop - Grey Hunters (8) w/Mark of the Wulfen, Melta Gun, Wolf Standard, Pwr Sword. Led by a Wolf Guard w/Pwr Fist & Combi-Melta. Pack mounted in a Rhino w/Ex Armor = 258

Troop - Grey Hunters (8) w/Mark of the Wulfen, Melta Gun, Wolf Standard, Pwr Sword. Led by a Wolf Guard w/Pwr Fist & Combi-Melta. Pack mounted in a Rhino w/Ex Armor = 258

Troop - Blood Claws (13) w/Flamer, Pwr Fist. Led by a Wolf Guard w/Pwr Fist = 258

Heavy - Land Raider Crusader w/Multa Melta, TL Assault Cannon, Ex Armor - 275

Heavy - Long Fangs (5 plus pack leader) 5 w/Missile Launchers. Led by a Wolf Guard w/Bolt Pistol, Close Combat Weapon. Pack mounted in a Razorback with Lascannon & TL Plasma Guns = 223

Heavy - Whirlwind = 85

Total = 2500

Basically, one Rune Priest comes down with the remainder of the Wolf Guard in a Drop Pod. Another RP will either hang back with the Long Fangs or go in with a pack of Grey Hunters while Ragnar, a Wolf Priest, and the Blood Claws are in the LRC. I go round and round with taking the extra armor off on the Rhinos, but it has been beneficial to me in the past.

Thoughts?

I'm not a big fan of giving up 3 kill points per vehicle in mission # 3, but if that means I'll face a lot less mech I-Guard lists, than so be it...

You do realize with that list you have around 30 Kill points...

if you want to be competitive you are going to have to change all of your heavies to long fangs, and drop the rhinos in favor of more troops in drop pods (provided your TO does not count them as 3KP each)

Something like 33 KP for the last mission right? Thats not to bad. My marine list is just under 50.

That statement is rather, IMO, wrong.

How is he going to be more 'competitive' by changing to Drop Pods just for the last mission? He will have less KPs, but # of KPs is useless if you can't kill your opponent.

And just as a reference, my WH/Sisters army that I'm bringing is about 48 kps. If you can't win the first two missions, the # of KPs for the third is irrelevant.

Yeah, I figured that I'm better playing my style game with some balance in my list than worry about how many kill points I give up in mission 3. I'm not a big fan of running my whole list in Drop Pods. I like using 1 Drop Pod that I can place in the first turn and use Combi-Meltas to take out enemy tanks or Jaws from a Rune Priest. Rhinos can move each turn, contest objectives, ect.

I basically know the big tourney guys in my area will bring non MEQ armies. One guy is bringing a "Big Bug" list, another is using a mostly all-walking Ork army, ect. The Whirlwind for 85 points was a stretch for me, but I figured that for the points it was a solid option. If I change anything, I debate dropping the Whirlwind and the extra armor on the Rhinos to add a 2nd Long Fang pack.

IMO this is better for a few reasons:

Long Fangs (with 4ML, or 5 if you have the points) are cheap

They can do light and medium tank hunting

They can drop 5 templates on footsloggers(vs the one that half the time goes wild from a whirlwind)

They can insta gib feel no pain marines like plague Marines and FNP BA assault troops and Death company.

And only 1 KP for third mission

You will have 35 kill points in the 3rd scenario I believe. Which really isn't that bad.

Bring the second long fang squad. I would drop a the extra armor and a whirlwind for a long fang unit any day. Thats a great idea. make your list even better.

yea I'd have to agree, long fangs are far more versatile and will give your army that extra edge.
