Subject: Ultramarines Blue Spray Equivalent?

I've had a can of Ultramarines Blue spray paint that I bought back around 1999-2000 and used sporadically until I recently finally got around to building my Crimson Fist army. I finally finished off the can partway through painting my army. I did a search around online to see if folks had ideas on equivalent sprays and someone mentioned Tamiya's TS-10 (French Blue). I bought a can, masked my black primed vehicles where necessary and sprayed them down this morning. YEARGH! I can see how the color would work for Ultras, but there's no way in hell, even with numerous washes of Badab Black and Asurmen Blue that this color will match my original Ultramarine blue spray. It turned out almost a turquoise-y blue. So, I'm looking at stripping, repriming and respraying, but this time I want to make sure I've got the right color.
Anyone have any recommendations of what spray I should use?

I don't know how well this compares to what you had for colour, but you could try it.

I had the same issue once my last can of Ultramarines Blue ran out.
I switched to this:
This rhino is still WIP: so still to be shaded/weathered. etc. but it is almost a perfect match...

FYI: It is labeled "Flat Blue".
it seems to take other paint/washes fine, and doesn't seem to wear off from handling. All in all I'm pleased thus far.
It can also survive 2000 degree temps, though I think the rhino will melt long before that...

See, here's the thing, Kanluwen and StubbyGB, I figure Army Painter's colors are nearly an exact match, but they also ask $11 per can, compared to paying $5 a can of Krylon or Rustoleum. Flat blue, eh, CT GAMER? I'm definitely having my Ace Hardware order me some. Thanks!

It also lasts you nearly two years and sprays perfect damn near 100% of the time no matter the conditions.
Krylon won't, and given the sheer amount of differing kinds of Krylon/Rustoleum and the issues you can have with them--you decide.
Is it worth paying $11 and not having an issue with the model--or potentially having to trash a model because of Krylon or Rustoleum wasn't intended specifically for that task?

I have painted hundreds of models and many score terrain pieces with "non-hobby" sprays and NEVER had an issue. I HAVE had GW and and armoury products that have fuzzed or ruined models.
Any product can have issues...

And I've had over $200 of plastic Imperial Guard ruined by Krylon spray that people here swear by.
Forgive me if I'd rather stick with something that actually -works- rather than risking it and being a cheapskate.

I'm with CT GAMER on this one. I had a can of GW's Chaos Black spray go fuzzy on me and a can of Tamiya turn into something that looked like crackle-coat (if I'd been painting my Guard as a Nurgle army, it would've looked cool, but I wasn't). And I've only had good experiences with Krylon's matte sprays.
Ugh. That said, I know that the Army Painter spray will be as close to a match as is possible for the company to make it and I know that it is available through some of the online stores. Who knows how long it will take my local hardware store to special order me a single can of spray paint?

Which was exactly my point: Any spray can have issues.
You tried to imply that sprays marketed to gamers are somehow better/more reliable and thus worth the inflated cost. Take a 99 cent can of flat black from a DIY store and a can of any flat black targeted to wargamers and have a chemist analyze both. They will be identical.
Any product can have bad batches.
products are also susceptible to misuse: over spraying, not shaking, using old cans.
Climate, altitude and humidity also factor in.
having a gaming logo on the side of the can changes none of this, nor does it actually signify something that is actually "better" for use on models.
If overpaying gives people some false sense of security, then hey it's your money, but just be prepared when one of those $11 cans of specialty spray turns on you...

If you can get some Ultramarine Blue from one of the citadel paint jars you can take it to most stores that mix up custom paints and they SHOULD be able to make an exact match for you.
Any brand of spray can ruin a model if conditions aren't ideal. I've had Testors Dullcote (argued to be the best matte sealer in existence) go white on me once. Though IME I've never had problems with Krylon. I've even painted in temps in the teens with no problems.
Just don't let it freeze. It will ruin it. It separates and goes on more like an enamel lacquer than a spay primer.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

I use the Rustoleum High Heat colors too. I use the Almond for my Tyranids. Prime, do the carapace in Mechrite Red, wash entire figure in brown ... and you're pretty much done.
