Here is my latest list for 2k points, i used to have lots of raptors con it, and a chaos lord with jetpack, but after lots of frustation getting him instakilled i finally moved away from it and raptors over all, replaced them with cult troops, still i have some problems against Tyranids mainly. (Just got my ass kicked yesterday), it was a battle mission thou, surprise attack, me being the enemy, so my friend (The nid player) attributes part of his victory to it, however i don't, so decided to put my list here to get some criticism.

HQ

Abaddon

Daemon Prince w/ wings & warptime

Elites

3x Termies, 2 combi-meltas, 1 power fist, 1 reaper autocannon.

Troops

10x CSM, champion w/power fists, 2x flamer, 1 x icon of chaos glory
Rhino w/combi-melta

10x Plague Marines, champion w/power fist & combi-melta & personal icon, 2x plasmaguns
Rhino w/combi-melta

8x Berserkers, chmapion w/power weapon & combimelta

10x Lesser Daemons

Heavy

3x Oblies

Land Raider w/Havoc Launcher & combi-melta & extra armor

Abaddon and the 8 zerks go on the LR, and assault the best targeti can find, while the plague marines usually sit at an objective or in cover keep firing waiting for something to charge them, the undivided troop usually just supports either of my other 2 cult troops.

Well, its a really small army.
The enemy will immediately target the LR and it might eventually go down before it can deliver its payload.

Against Nids, only Zoantrophes can threaten this ancient machine.
But you'll get easily outnumbered and those Tyrgons landing in your zone can be a pain.
Really not the list I'd play.

I'd drop the powerfist and reaper autocannon. Powerfist won't really survive to do much damage in a 3 man squad, and the autocannon is just so darn pricey. Plus it's a long-range weapon in a short-range squad. If you want S7, make it a combi-plasmagun.

If your prince is going to have wings and warp time, might as well take a mark. Consider nurgle. Downside with this setup in either case though is that DPs aren't that great - better than lords or sorcerers, but still not great. And against nids in particular, your warp time will be shut down often since to use it you'll need to be close to synapse. I know it's cliche, but a lash prince would be a force multiplier in a list like the one you have. Where once your landraider would have to move twice to get into effective range, now you can lash the enemy forward and assault a turn early! One less turn of being shot at, one more turn of killing. I'd also give the berserker champion a powerfist. Make those extra attacks really deadly.

I think your landraider is a bit costly. Drop the havoc launcher. I'm not a fan of extra armour, pricey though it is and since we can't shoot while shaken [coughmachinspiritcough].... but it does keep you moving and doesn't reduce BS, so that's good I guess.

The coolest thing about cult troops like plaguemarines is that they can take their special weapons without being 10 men. What are those extra 5 plaguemarines really doing for you, other than making you more survivable? I say drop those and the lesser daemons and buy another squad of 10 CSM in a rhino - the points should work out, I think. And why give the plague champion a combi-melta if he's sitting in the back for the entire game? For that matter why a powerfist, or a champion at all? Think of the role the unit will play. If they're designed to stay back, don't go hog-wild on gear. Use those points to buy a powerfist on the newly created aspiring champion in the new unit I just mentioned, that WILL be going up close on the front line.

Also, flamers....meh. Against tyranids you're going to hate it when your awesome flamer death squad nearly bounces off some termagaunt squad's FNP roll. The prevalence of FNP that now gives saves to things that had none really takes its toll. Give them meltaguns, and target the big beasties.

You are actually right spellbound, i forgot to put that the prince has MoN hehe, and regarding the flamers true that damn FnP always saves the unit that gets flamed.

The plague champion has been pretty useful against mech armies or just dreads droping behind my lines, thats why i still leave it but 10 marines and a rhino sounds better. Ill give it a try, need to build a zerk champion with PF as well, got the PW cause i wanted to use the extra I with FC, still the extra PF attack sounds a lot more deadly.
