Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

I'm seriously just waiting until they create an army that I want to collect and I'll definitely be buying from them.

Great marketing idea! It's surprising that I can't recall any other miniatures company doing quite the same thing as GW has been asking for this for a while.
Good news. If only I could think of a good reason to build the undead Napoleonic army I thought of. Combining their undead with the 28mm plastic Napoleonic stuff, or now I think about it plastic ACW stuff would make for a pretty unique and cool army.
Undead Confederate zombies FTW! The South will rise again!

I could think of a few uses for Mantic skeles and ghouls in sci fi and WWW2.

It's called imagination mate! Im sure you could forgo a slight discrepancy....
Those Mantic Ghouls really look dead-on.
Any US distributors?

Damn them for actually making 28mm figures 28mm sized. This 'heroic scale' is the fault of other manufacturers like GW creating a scale creep so that their 28mm stuff is more like 30mm or more.

"Well, guys, this is incredible! Revenue is up 33% this quarter thanks to our brilliant marketing!"
"Wow, how did we pull that off?"
"Well, we sold 4 boxes of skeletons instead of the three we sold last quarter. We probably would have sold more, but VC kinda got nerfed in 8th so demand is down."
Actually, if VC does get nerfed, I'm sure we'll be seeing conspiracy theorists go on about how the evil, evil GW is out to eliminate the stiff competition they're facing from Mantic.

A) I was joking B) I actually like their minis C) They're kind of asking for it, being full of themselves and acting like one of GW's competitors when they have virtually no market share (and the only reason most people buy their minis is because they're using them in a GW game, no less)

I guess you need to start using some <joke> </joke> tags then; not sure if it's just me but that went right over my head.
Whether they 'have no market share' or not is neither here nor there and neither is your opinion as to whether they are asking for it or not - this is the news and rumours section and news of a non price rise deserves to be championed IMO especially from a new and upcoming company, and more to the point, one we should all consider supporting in light of the GW annual price rise. After all, competition is excellent for the consumer; we should be encouraging new companies, not berating them for apparent gumption.
Ostrakon wrote:(and the only reason most people buy their minis is because they're using them in a GW game, no less)
That's no great issue, they're much cheaper and the quality looks good too so why wouldn't gamers use them? The greater the gap between GW and the alternatives the more people will tend to use them. GW could address this in a more constructive and positive manner than simply banning all non-GW models from their shops and events because ultimately people will follow their wallet. When it comes to fantasy miniatures especially GW try to create a false monopoly, they can claim that only GW figures be used with their games but anyone can make 28mm skeletons and elves and humans which have little real difference to the GW ones other than the brand name. Bit different with 40K because the 'look' of space marines and eldar are distinctive and unique but alternatives do exist.

Without yearly 15% price increases, how will I know how much better then the other companies their miniatures are?
(and the only reason most people buy their minis is because they're using them in a GW game, no less)
Speaking only for myself, if I ran a miniature company, I could care less if people were melting down my minis and recasting them into fishing sinkers, so long as they were buying them.

As I posted in the GW price rise thread, Mantic are offering almost unparalleled value with their minis. Definately worth a look I say. Classic stuff, I love them already.
