There was a thread on this a while back, but I don't believe anyone on Dakka admitted first hand experience.

I heard an interview with one of the people involved with this on a podcast -- I think it was the D6 Generation but I am not sure.

It seems interesting but it is one of those things that I would have to see demoed before I would buy it.

Just so you guys know, im possibly the biggest exillis fanboy... Ever

I got into the game during the beta testing at last years gen con indy. The game has been through its ups and downs, I even dropped it for a while after releasing in november. I did manage to find
my way back though, and so far the game is everything it was promised to be.

Many people are fixated on the software and grid aspects of the game. Think of the software as a free, interactive rulebook and codex, with a personal rules judge all wrapped in one. The coolest part is, as the game system evolves there will never be a need for Faq's, errata, or rulebook replacements. All changes, additions and corrections are eaily incorporated in a quick update which the software prompts you for.

Make no mistake this is a table top strategy battle game. The difference is that with the software's help deeper and more realistic calculations can be made than could ever be accomplished by 2d6. I could bore you with all the details, but instead I'll just say that it has everything you would love in a fantasy war game, minus everything you don't like about war gaming. I would be happy to answer any questions,

I have been playing this for about 3 months now. I have followed it from the beginning but was unable to Beta test it myself because the "old school" minded stores near me. Since getting my own copy of the game at the end of February it has really changed the way I view Tabletop Gaming as a whole. No need to memorize yet another set of rules. You don't need to worry about errata or updates. They are done in update/patches. you can pick for 30+ factions from the start and paint your miniatures to match your faction. You Level up you army gaining new abilities! This was one of the coolest things in my opinion. There really is nothing not to like. Find someone who has the game. Play a battle or 3. You will not be sorry you did.
