I read this just a minute ago can any confirm or deny this? Did any of you get your online vouchers? Did you get your prize from your FLGS?

Well to put a cherry on top of this fail-sundae, we have this interesting bit from Protem. It seems GW has let the domain registration for the site used to register the 'Ard Boyz results lapse, allowing it to be snapped up by cyber-squatters. He says:

do you know if anyone has noticed that the site that GW put on the 'ard boyz rules sheets for submitting scores, etc doesn't belong to GW anymore?

gwuscommunity.com has been squatted - it looks like GW let the domain expire back in february. i'm wondering if this will have an adverse effect on setting up the next round.

Well of course it will. I wonder what the GW district managers think of all the extra work they'll have to do now.

They just let us pick things off their shelves.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Preliminaries was boxes at the local retailer as per the 'Ard Boys rules document. The Semis is the online vouchers.

The vouchers are at the semis, in the prelims you had to pick something off the shelf.

They let us pick stuff from the shelves at my event, as well.

I'm still a bit concerned about when the locations for the semifinals are expected to be announced. It would be nice to know how far we'll have to travel to play...

Heh. Nothing? And what are these 'District Managers' you speak of? 'Ardboyz is promotions and tradesales departments. Nothing to do with GW retail.

Prizes for round 1 were given out at the stores. For round 2, you get them from the GW site via voucher. Same with finals. I don't think anything has changed whatsoever for this year.

That was the club/Kommando recource site that went down last year when they scrapped Kommandos. Based on the bad dates, web address and emails it looks like they just copied and pasted a few pages from last year's rules pack. I noticed this the first day the rules went up, it is silly to make a mistake but I don't think it is going to be much of a problem.

You may also notice the dates for the Semi-Finalist patches are due weeks after the event when they need to be in the hands of the hosts of the Semis the day of. The packet mentions 09 patches and July availability. Another snafu, but you can bet the hosts of the semis know whats up and will have gotten their order of patches in and be able to validate qualifiers.

There should be no problems for stores to handle these issues with their sales rep. There have always been little issues because this is run by Trade Sales and since I enjoy Ard Boyz I don't let it bother me.

One complaint i do have is that last year there were certificates available at the first round stores and you would bring your certificate to the next round as proof. Did anyone get these?

if i may ask a question real fast. Was 1st 75 2nd 50 and 3rd 30 or 1st 60 2nd 40 and 3rd 20? Also.. if you did place, do you have to pick one thing up to what you won, or just pick a handful of stuff equaling up to your winnings? Thanks for anyone whom can answer.

I found out the certificates were available where I played but my ride was catching a flight to LA the next morning and we left before they were handed out.
