Last summer I was bored so rifled through my bits box, found a Kroot sprue and I had the bright idea to do something different (different from Ultramarines in any case). So I converted one and painted it up and down on my local gaming night someone challenged me to do an entire squad of converted Kroot. After some mad thinking I had the bright idea to do a whole Kroot Mercencary army as well, which is coming along slowly. Currently consisting of 10 painted Kroot and 10 painted hounds. See, slowly. This is the latest addition that I've been making today, Kroot Shaper with eviscerator. Hope you enjoy, comments and criticisms are welcome.

Incinerating your hopes

I'm totally thinking that you need to put a chain sword on the bottom too. He'll look like Skorge from GoW2

Cheers for the feedback. I had to google Skorge as I don't have the game, or a 360 come to think about it. I must come out from under my rock. But yes, this is the new, improved, even choppier eviscerator!!! Hope you like it.

Used double chainswords for the new part and extended the original blade further from the handle.

This one tries to illustrate the size of the new one compared to the Shaper.

Looking great!

I'm actually attempting the same thing, taking a break from my C:SM army and working on some xenos.

You'll want to fill in those shoulders with some green stuff, or hide the gaps with the shoulder pads.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers, I was planning on using a whole lot of green stuff in order to make it look half decent, as opposed to a bunch of bits chopped up then held together with copious amounts of glue

Great idea, I love the double eviscerator. How about some pics of the rest of your Kroot?

Ooh, old Ork chainswords. Man I haven't seen those bits in a while.

Good work, he looks like he'll be coming along perfectly once you get to the green stuffing.

That's looking good! Can never get better than double ended chainsaws... well, it could but you'd be hard pressed to try and do so ^^

Sorry about lack of updates, I've been busy moving and helping my brother move as well. Will post some updated photos soon and add some of my other Kroot too.

Ok, the Shaper's been green stuffed to the best of my limited ability, and looking at the pictures it needs neatening up. Just imagine it neater. I've also got some pictures of some of other WIPs, my Master Shpaer and a Shaman. For the Master Shaper I was going for a 'stand out in the army by being exceedingly epic' look. I think I pulled it of reasonably. The Shaman was going for a more wise pose, consulting his pet bird as Kroot are bird-esque in appearance. I will post images of completed Kroot in a gallery when I can. C&C most welcome.

Little birdy friend came from the WHFB giant frame. It also has a vulture on it so maybe sometime soon even more birdies

I hate you for pulling off that pose before I got the chance. I will definitely be investing in said little birdie.

Pictures of all my painted Kroot so far are now uploaded in my gallery. There's only 10 and 10 hounds. Uni puts a crimp in one's painting time

Here are some painted pics of my Master Shaper. Progress has been a bit slow as I've been moving out of uni. Not sure I'm completely happy with the crystal blade, so may revisit it. C&C welcome.

Excellent work, I love your shaman, especially the way the cloak is hanging off of his back, it gives him a wise, sage-like apperance, as he should have! Great stuff!

Scrazza! How dare you refer to me as an edible foot item of a variety of which I do not describe myself!

Just read over that, took me a while to process it....

Ow...

Also, I agree with Scrazza, the blade is sweeeet

Cheers for the comments guys. Finished my Shaman yesterday with his little birdy friend. I went for a yellow/golden bird to match the quills of the Kroot to suggest an evolutionary descendance, with matching beak and claws too. The cloak and other cloth parts were painted in a lighter colour than the rest of my Kroot to make him stand out as someone special, it also seemed to fit the sage-like, Roman-esque cloak. But enough babbling, here's the pics, enjoy
