Alright, this is my first tutorial so here goes. I don't have many pictures to go with this, so you'll just have to do your best to visualize.

First off, these are the tools/ supplies you'll need:

-Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly)
-Two rectangles of plasticard a little bigger than you want the emblem
-A ball of Green Stuff that when flattened will be a little bigger than the emblem
-A sculpting tool (Anything works, but I just used a dental tool I got and it works fine)
-An X-Acto knife with an unused blade(This is necessary! If it's dirty, the Green Stuff will stick to it! That's bad!)
-A cup of water for keeping your X-Acto knife and sculpting tool moist
-A printed out picture the same size as you want it to be
-Patience! This may not come out the way you want it to be

Step 1: Take the two pieces of plasticard. On one of them, cut a shallow "X" with the X-Acto knife. This will give the Green Stuff some thing to grab on to when you're sculpting so that it doesn't get pulled around. Then put Vaseline on one side of the un-cut plasticard and on the other sheet of plasticard on the side the "X" is on.

Step 2: Take the evenly mixed ball of Green Stuff and place it on the "X." Then flatten it using the other piece of plasticard to the desired thickness. For this, make sure you are using the side with the Vaseline. Carefully pull the un-Xed plasticard away. It can be discarded or saved for future projects.

Step 3: Put some Vaseline on the surface of the Green Stuff. Then take your reference image and place it on the top of the Green Stuff.

Step 4: Using the moistened X-Acto knife, cut out the lines on the image. You should barely be cutting through the image, but enough so that you will be able to see the cuts you made when you take the image off. If there are any details you can't or are worried about reaching, don't worry about them. We'll cover them later.

Step 5: Remove the reference image VERY CAREFULLY! Now use the X-Acto knife and again CAREFULLY cut all the way through the lines you previously cut. Pull away the pieces of Green Stuff you cut off.

Step 6: Now for fine details: Using the X-Acto knife, very lightly plan the outline for the details. Then indent inside the detail areas. You can see what I mean by looking at the separation on the wings and underneath the raven's beak on the picture at the bottom of this. After the emblem has dried, you can either sand or use the X-Acto knife to touch up the rough places.

Hope this helps you guys, Happy gaming!
Oh, and thanks to Les Bursley for inspiration. "Thanks, Dude!"

I wasn't planning on doing a tutorial. It's just when I posted a picture of the emblem people wanted me to make a tutorial, so I did. If I attempt another one of these freehand (not a press mold) Then I might take some pictures to add to this. But at the moment, I don't have any plans to take pictures.

Incidentally, this is the method a lot of folks use for sculpted banner details. Nice breakdown of the technique.
