I have read in some posts on Dakka of some program called Vassal40k. From what i read it seems like some kind of online version of 40k. I googled it but all i could find were some broken links and a site saying games workshop pulled them off the air. So the main question is: what is Vassal40k and where can i find it?

It was basically a program to play 40k tabletop online (using the Vassal engine), before GW got their collective male thong wedged up somewhere and decided to send a cease and desist notice.

Why would you want to find if GW gave them the C&D letter?

Anyway, it's around... last I heard it was moved off-shore... maybe it's dwelling somewhere on 4-chan.

Google can get you what you need. Vassal itself is a java based application to play wargames over the internet, which is why Vassal40K is getting you nothing.

Google 'Vassal 40K module' and that should lead you to one site or another that has it for download.

So how do you find opponents to play?

Well, there's a big lobby on Vassal. You can...ask the people who are they to play 40k if they want to play 40k? =p

Alternatively, most Vassal players have Skype - voicechat makes games go much faster, and over time you'll build a collection of contacts on Skype.

I do know if i get it working I would love to play you Dash(prob would get smoked) but you never know how good you are unless you play the best you can find and atm your up there(along with blackmoor, panic,and arbortian)
