My initial goal was to magnetize the kit to make it swappable between the Deathstrike and the Manticore, but that was going to turn out a lot more difficult than I first anticipated, so I just built it as a Deathstrike. I picked up the model late Friday after work and finished it on Sunday. Overall, I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Close up of cockpit. Anyone recognize the screen? Thought it was fitting.

Hell that's cool. Fantastic paint job, really neat but at the same time well-weathered - not over done.

What's the screen from?!

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

I love that model. Great paint job. Is the crewman playing missile command on his screen?

I like it! How did you get your mud effect on the tracks and base?

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

You should add a track ball into the control panel.

Good model overall but I think the missle's head could use something more it seems a little bland

Got to love missle command.

I would agree the missle's head seems out of place, otherwise great job.

The land of cotton.

Looks great! Good job on the details, especially the Missile Command control screen. Nice touch.

Like you I'm struggling with making this kit convertible. Seems there's no real way to do it without adding parts. I'm determined though so I think I'm going to replace the Death Strike missile with something similar size and shaped from an old Monogram US and USSR Missile display:

This should allow me to use the four Storm Eagle rockets and magnetize the tray to lift them off and place the Deathstrike. Should be a simple scratch build to make a launch rail for the Deathstrike.

Agreed, I think the easiest way to make them swappable is to build it as a Manticore and scratch build the Death strike components and then magnetize the two to sit on the launcher.

Love the Missile Command screen. Now if there was only a way to pipe Rush's "Tom Sawyer" through the model...
