Prototype models for a warband in a steampunk skirmish game I started coming up with ideas for ages ago. These are actually finished and painted now but I didn't take photos of them painted before I left the country (UK to Japan) so these will have to do for now
All the fluff and ideas for other warbands are here. I also fully accept that these are basically just rebel grots in that other thread!!!
Anyway let me know what you think of them, here are the models:

Best use of ball bearings EVA! (besides the whole "making things move" thing)

Have you spied the FW Grot Tanks? just in case you move them into the realm of 40K.

Yeah those grot tanks are great, but then I'm biased! I long ago came to the conclusion that I'll never have the attention span to model and paint a whole army so I'll never move into 40k unless it's something like ravenwing where you only need like 3 models haha!
The goggles are actually made of shortened pins going through short lengths of tubing and rammed into their eyes. It's a gruesome technique but it means they're pretty stable.

HA! I thought those were the ends of pins. The tubing looks small like ink pen tubes, but Ive never seen red ink tubes, what size are those? I might steal that idea for making some Ork kommandos some day.

Honestly, I have to say Im a big fan of converting grots, *cough cough

When done right converted Grots (yes when they are converted they get a big G, not a little one ) can easily look better and steal the attention from the rest of your army. Great work so far man

Those are fun conversions; they remind me a bit of the Gorkamorka Rebel Grots, particularly the leader.

Hey cool this got bumped! Thanks very much for the brand new, shiny compliments
SoO, that model wasn't actually painted by me, it belongs to the guy who wrote that post. All of these guys, however, are already painted, they just happen to still be back home in the UK and...well you can probably tell where I'm living by looking at my flag (if not you need some geography classes). I'm going back home for a visit at Christmas so I'll bring them back with me when I come back to Japan so I can take some photos of them.
