so, you have two rock units instead of one, which is good, but the transport for one is significantly more vulnerable then the other,

im not seeing the point in the defilers at all, they can't keep up,and they provide no fire support.

drop them for a land raider to give to kharns boys

10 man CSM squad and no heavy weapon? try 5 man, and buy a third unit.

Any reason you included lesser deamons? XD cut them AND all the icons

No codex on me at the moment but i'm fairly sure that gives you enough points for a couple obliterators or a fourth melta troop, maybe more ^_^

I like defilers because they are big and scary. If my opponent ignores the defilers, they will be dropping str 8 pie plates that role 2 d6 to penetrate vehicle armor. That's a 50% chance of penetrating a land raider if I get a direct hit. So I'd say defilers are pretty decent supporting fire, not as good as obliterators, but defilers are a better distraction. Also I like defilers because they can hang back and take out enemy deep strikers or out flankers which is really handy. And lastly I like defilers because they fit the fluff for Abaddon, as Abaddon fashioned defilers himself .

Heavy weapons aren't really recommended on csm squads because they highly reduce the squads mobility and disables the squads ability to assault effectively.

Good question about the lesser daemons. I have them pretty much because I think they are cool and I like the paint job I did. If anything, they are a cheap troop unit that I can bring in to support any squad that needs the help. But yeah I'm thinking I'm not really making good use of the number of icons I have. I've got icons on Abaddon, Kharn, Khorne Berzerkers, and both csm squads. Although, the icons on Abaddon and Kharn come automatically, and the IOCG I have on the csm squads are very useful even if not used as a homing beacon. I would keep the IOCG's even if I wasn't deepstriking. Although the personal icon on the Khorne Berzerkers is questionable. But not that big of a deal for only 5 points.

But I think you're right, I might need a Land Raider for Kharn and friends. 2250 pt game maybe? XD

ok so basically what you just told me is.
Your taking a less effective unit because you think it looks scary.
It can also sit back and be useless because outflankers /deepstrikers are usually anti tank units.
6 turns of shooting two defilers at rhinos in the open averages.....12 shots. 4 hits, and maybe 2-3 good scatters that still hit (if your lucky) so 6 hits, and around 4 pens + a glance

so over 6 turns of shooting your battlecannons average out to kill a rhino, and get one penetration hopefully on another.
Thats IF you shoot them every turn

um in what way???? if your moving, dont shoot the HW if your charging, don't shoot. Your lacking effective long range firepower for when the opponent is uncatchable, dark eldar. Eldar, vendettas, etc.

So your taking lesser deamons because they are cool, then making up some sort of tactics for them. ok.

I'm going to stop trying to help with this list because i have no idea why you posted it here if you don't want help with it, your obviously pretty set on using the models that look 'Cool" or are "big and scary"

Alright, I can agree with both of you.

I agree that you need some more long range fire power. Even if it's making one of the Defi's arms a RAC. Right there you've got 2 twin linked ACs that are amazing at popping Rhinos and Wave Serpents. They also help in case your BC gets blown off. Otherwise Preds are exellent for an anti-tank platforms.

As far as the LD go, its really up to you. I've used them before, liked them. But I think you've got enough CC units in this list already. I don't know what to swap them out for, possibly a Dread w/ 2 DCCW just to give you another "big+scary" unit running across the board.

@Sarnath666: Holy crap man, calm down.

REPENT for tommorrow you DIE!!!!

Do you think that the RAC has a better chance of popping a Rhino than the battle cannon? I've always assumed the battle cannon did a better job, but if RAC is better for that then I'll keep it on for sure.

It is true that I've always had problems with mobile high firepower armies. I actually do like the sounds of swapping the lesser daemons for a dreadnought, but I am uneasy about having only 3 troops choices in a 2000 point game. I've got a lot of big expensive stuff in this army, so I guess that's just something I have to deal with.
