I am going to be getting Lich Lord Asphyxious soon but I hate his goofy souledge wannabe staff, so i decided the lord of reincarnation needs to have a scythe.

I think you could probably do a lot better than that for a scythe.

Mad props to you for the soul calibur reference though. How long have you been a player?

Speaking of which, perhaps one of Zasalamel's scythes could be an inspiration.

I am not trying to go for a detailed scythe considering much of the cryx armies the weapons are usually pretty simple.

Been playing since souledge/soulblade (on the psx). Or if you mean warmachine 8 months or so.

Zasamels scythes are very decorative and that really doesn't fit the cryx, this is part of the reason I don't like his current staff.

My concept is something relatively simplistic but still very steam punk, which is kind of a hard medium. I originally thought some kind of hydraulic pumps attached to the blade to make it look like it jabs it in further after or during the strike.

I meant Soul Edge/ Calibur.

I don't know anyhting about Warmachine, was just a thought. Hm, I still think you can make it look a bit better and keep it simplistic though. I'll try to draw something up to convey my point though.

Perhaps a larger curve in it to make it look more wicked. Also if you put a little cicular notch in it. I have no clue what they are suppose to represent but they are always there.

Love the idea. Hope to see you go through with it and make some progress as I am a Cryx player as well, and could use some good motivation to do my own conversions. Good luck!

is that model metal? I've never seen it before, where do you order it from?

Anyways with the sythe, to be honest I kinda like the staff he's got already, but sorry If this is going to complicated but he should have gems or lightning heading up the rim of the staff to the sythe itself to give a powerful feel

This suggestion may be a little too small for that particular model but there is a very nice scythe in the Emperor Wizards box from WHFB. It's plastic and has some very detailed roses twining about the scythe itself.

Convert it to suit you, but that particular model has that blade for a fluff reason (it's actually made from another lich lord that Asphyxious weaponized to kill the Harbinger of Menoth, hence the eye). I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were converting away from. Still, he is a sweet model that would look good with a scythe.

I think its from Hordes or Warmachine. I dont play the game at all, but Ive looked at their minis from time to time and it looks like their stuff. I agree though, sytch for sure. Make it from plasticard. That way you can make it look however you want

The staff top blade, couldn't you chop it off and twist it around so the pointy bit faces forward, then trim away any bits you don't want and plastercard/green stuff the rest

Needs spiky bits, and maybe a sm head or something on it
