I thought there was a lot of promise when I heard the possibility of a forge world avatar a while back, but I am not that impressed. It's one thing to slack a bit if the model is a forge world only model, but when GW already has one out that will not cost anywhere near as much I do not see a whole lot of people justifying this purchase. I cannot justify it mysef, especially with the prospect of a new one by GW coming out soon rumours.

It looks like if you want a new Avatar for your army, then this is it. Like it or not.

GW said today during their UKGD that they are not releasing a new citadel model for the eldar avatar.

The DK heavy weapons are sweet, and the Avatar is, well, yes. The fingers are a bit stubby, the pose static, and the sixpack abs and the muscular roll in the buttocks area kind of disturbing/alluring. A great paint job will do wonders, though.

If they had cast it clear resin you could put a light in there and made it look like lava.  That would be awesome.

I noticed that his hand isn't dripping with blood. I know the "bloody-handed" description could certainly be figurative language, but this does mark a departure from the last model's literal interpretation.

Now how many mortgages will I need to take out? And can it move more than 6" per turn?

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias
