One other clarification, the DE FAQ says treat the portal as a board edge. That means you can't drop a pod on top of it. If the DE player is nice he could say just treat it as impassable terrain. If the DE player is mean, and the pod falls on the portal, that means it has crossed the board edge and should be removed from the game. :~)

I'm not sure that would be an absolute ruling since we're dealing with multiple versions of the rules and FAQs, but it's best to just not try and drop pod on top of the portal.

But to bring this back on to topic.  I think the Dark Eldar represent a good metagame choice.  They benefit from everyone else loading up on weapons to take on MEQs.

They also have the benefit of being a seldom seen army.  That alone can be a huge advantage.  If your opponent is unsure of what your army can do, what kind of strategy it can employ, and has never practiced against it, well that's huge.
