As with everyone else, I have alot of stuff.

I did hear of a gamer who decided to paint two old models for evey new model he bought. That would get you through your backlog eventually, without preventing you from buying the odd new shiny unit.

My own idea is to only buy new models by selling my old gaming gear and models. That should make a dent in my backlog AND stop me from buying too much new stuff.

Over the last 4 years I sold off over 6 000 models (including the sale of 650 praetorians and their heavy weapons). All the half finished armies, armies that didn't hold my imagination anymore and outdated but not yet upgraded models.

Leaving me with:
40k:
1 Baneblade
2 SM armies (Sons Of Gonads and BAs)
Eldar
Orks
4 or so boxes of various grey knights

WHFB:
Slayer cult
VCs
(Sold off my daemons end of last year )

I'm just starting a new SM force and WHFB Empire and am only buying new models when the ones I'm working on are painted.
So these two armies should be ready for a game at about 2009.

We swapped backlogs. As we're busy painting HIS minis, I've got no one to paint mine!

I starting dealing with my backlog yesterday actually, just giving them away.

Isn't that the deal when economies work the way they do? The work you do
for overseas client is more valuable than the work you do for yourself or
other workers.

Yes and no. Barring extreme months, we always set aside "us" time every week for us to do our own minis and game. The problem, is after a week of painting, people don't always feel like doing more.

I'm the worst of the lot -- sometimes I don't even feel like gaming. A lot of times we just watch movies.
