if they drop the heavys to 1 per squad ....terminators will cease to exist in that format.. no one will play them unless they drop to 30 points each and i still wont use them with 1

which works for me ill have a legit reason to run assault termies exscusively... or ill just break out my space wolves codex and use them i think i get one assault cannon for every 3 in terminator armor.. woo hoo

i wish you would get off this "nerfing" the assault cannon kick... give me a break... its not all that big of a deal .. i have yet to see anyone field 9 speeders with them in any game amount.. why you may ask.... at an obscene 90 points each for that option a bolt pistol can bring it down and frequently does... but but but ...termies you say... 240 for 2 of them again not cheap... but but but ...the lrc 265 not cheap.. more exspensive than almost everything out there.. get over it already.... then there is the dread at 105...maybe 10 more points would be appropriate there

yes its great against troops its average against vehicles its already a str 6... to get its great killing power you have to make 2 rolls before it matters you have to roll a 3 not impossible then a 6 a bit more difficult....

i dont hear you people whinning about daemonettes when they are summoned that can move the turn they come in and have up to 30 attacks all of which are rending.. so please let the horse die already

Actually the siren prince demonette demonbomb is one of the more favored lists to call cheese. The only reason people aren't complaining about them right now is that there were hardly any USGTs the last year so most looked at the UKGTs and noticed that instead of demonbombs, IW and seer councils were the metagame.

Hmmm.  A friend of mine was quite happy, a couple of days ago.  He just got the last speeder needed to field his nine.  Still, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, they say.  Perhaps he will come to agree that something that can be dropped by a botl pistol isn't worth the points.  He's really psyched right now, though.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I agree it should be d10, but it wouldn't really solve many problems. It would just open up the game for more granular control over the models' statlines.

In the end it's not a critical distinction, d6 or d10. Either works fine if the rules are good.

I think the issue here is that GW has lost trust. There will always be naysayers and haters, but a company that's doing well, innovating, setting the standard for the industry, will have such a large and loyal following that those negative voices will be drowned out, or peer pressured into silence. GW doesn't have that. They've got a sizeable population of disgruntled customers who encourage others to feel disgruntled as well. It will be doubly hard for them to redeem the trust they've lost, since now many people are too proud of their anger to ever let GW succeed.

I honestly think that going from a D6 to a D10 would solve a lot of problems.  No doubt it might create some others but for the most part it would be a positive change.  There is just not enough variance in the D6 for this game that is already BASED on a 1 to 10 scale.  No way should a swooping hawk have near the same save as a space marine.  No way should a regular space marine be able to hit the avatar with a roll of 4 (or is it 5, and that still doesnt make sense).  I just think that going 1 to 10 gives MUCH better options.  You make terminator armor a 3+, you make power armor and most other things that were 3+, 4 or even 5+ and you open up a whole new game.  I dont say this to make anything tougher than it is or weaker than it is now....it would just help the game make more sense.

That almost sounds broken, and that is coming from a Grey Knight player.

Almost? It sounds 100% broken to me...

Rending + ranged weapons = wrong, no matter who gets them.
Search your feelings, you know it to be true, as a Dark Jedi once said.

The armour save system of 3rd/4th has problems that have shifted the balance of game play and how people evaluate armies and their worth.
And the humble d6 does indeed lend itself to people playing more math-hammer than warhammer.

"Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! Slayer of worlds! Felt the power throb in his weapon. He clutched it tightly in his hand and turned towards his foe letting it build in the twin energy spheres and then finally! RELEASE! The throbbing weapon ejaculated burning white fluid over them as Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! laughed manfully!" - From the epic novel, Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! Obliterates! the! Why would GW nerf terminators after everyone bought their ridiculously expensive models for $10 a pop?  That would just make everyone angry!

Whatever.  I don't believe this for a second.  Next you'll be telling me that Obliterators are going to T4(5)!

The answer, of course is so you can buy them at $12.50 a pop.

I don't think it makes any more or less sense, or fixes any problems as far as game balance. Balance issues stem from failed judgements in balancing, not in any particular die size. Going to a d10 has two chief advantages:

First it allows for greater granularity in the stats. As it stands basic Orks are S3. They're described as being massive and strong, but are the same S as a Guardsman. It's not a problem that they're the same, not from a rules perspective, but it is a bit odd. Go to a d10 system, spread the stats out to match, and there's more room to give the Ork, say S5, the Guardsman S4, and the Marine S6. Whatever it is.

Second, a d10 is an easier die to work with statistically. You have a 66.6666666666% chance of making a save with a Marine. But you have a 70% chance to roll above a 3 on a d10. It's just easier to run the numbers. Base 10 is how humans think. It's most familliar to us.

wouldn't you like to know

It might be slightly off topic, but dropping my friends Land Speeder with a bolt pistol is something I do on a regular basis.
Take my old CSM army. I fired everything I had on the last turn to stop his land speeder from claiming a table quarter. Nothing hit. Then the last weapon in range, a bolt pistol held by a Asp. Champ Biker roll a 5, a 6, a 6. Dead Land Speeder. I win.
