Why would anyone want to draw every round?

Why would anyone want to lose every round

Seriously though. I'm willing to bet it is more difficult to pull a draw in every round than it is to win every round, especially if you are actually setting out to do either. Drawing intentionally gives you much less room for error, VP or Objective-wise.

Heck, if anyone before a GT told me it was his intention to pull a draw all five rounds, and he actually pulled it off, I'd be impressed all to heck.

But someone knowing this could play to lose and cost you a draw, thus defeating your purpose. That is just one reason why it is better to play for the win.

Skipper, that won't even make it to tables #45 + in round two.

Too bad that you won't be able to tell your overall position by the table your assigned to this year.

Goodness,

I wish that I could get off work early enough to make it.  I haven't seen a single list that is even very competative.

C99, I hate to say it, but it looks like you may have a chance to repeat.

This is your only chance though because like MacArthur said when he left the Phillipines, "I'll be back."  Or was that the Governor of Cali... I get so confused.

My list did pretty good actually.

First, round I beat a less than competitve Tau list.

Second, I beat Flavius Infernus' 3 Falcon Eldar.

Third, I lost against a Drop Pod player who was one 2006's winning team. (I still got a decent amount of points, and he really won becasue I couldn't fully kill off any units).

Fourth, my dice decided I could win against a Pathfinder heavy Eldar list.

People don't think my list is overtly competive, until they play it.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

Yeah, Bloodthirster-based daemonbombs always give my mech Eldar a hard time. I've played Pete D's version often enough not to be fooled by the appearance. But it's always a question of whether I can zip around and play grab-ass with the big, mobile guys long enough to take them out with shooting and get the upper hand, or if I'll get caught and sucked into the big assault core around turn 3 or 4. Your bike lord is the one who caught me off guard, did something unexpected (can't remember what exactly) and it was all downhill for me from there.

It was a good game. Good tournament.

That's the question isn't it? I know it was an Eldar player, but I'd love to know which list it was. There were some pretty varied Eldar builds. All I know is I didn't play him (as he wasn't nearly that far down the table assignments ") ).

He knows that I know and you know that he actually doesn't know the rules at all.

Honestly I can't wait to see the results from the Adepticon tournies, and the army lists that were used since it's always interesting to see what was used.

It was a mech Eldar build, if I remember hearing right. Farseer & retinue on bikes, shining spears, 3 falcons with a mix of aspects/harlies, couple of footslogging guardian squads maybe. I remember thinking that there was nothing gimmicky or over the top about it--like most of the lists that did well. It was just a high-quality, competitive/balanced tournament list with a good player.
