Posted By davidson on 03/06/2007 1:51 AM The DA's did/do have another company called Iron Wing, it is a mechanized army. Iron Wing was part of the old Epic system (pre-Epic?) to represent a large space marine army with lots of tanks and stuff and never actually made it into the regular 40k fluff afaik. In fact, it's not part of the Epic Armageddon fluff, either.

WYSIWYG, if you have lightning claws surely they have to be modelled just like the storm bolter and the bolt pistol, how somebody would fire a storm bolter wihen they have twin lightning claws avades me. Yes, but where in the book does it say this?

In most Codexes it's on the Armoury page. In Codex: Dark Angels, it's on page 77.

You could always simply put a bolt pistol in a holster on his hip. Not even a big deal.

Actually Ironwing was part of the 40k fluff, but quite old stuff. Same brief mentions that the early ravenwing got in the White Dwarf, but we are talking very early on.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. |

Hordini - You could always simply put a bolt pistol in a holster on his hip. Not even a big deal.
He couldnt fire it, WSYIWYG includes a reasonable modelling attempt, you cannot draw and fire a bolt pistol with lightning claws. A bolty pistol on the backhand of a lightning claw would look rather good, and there is another way. A shoulder pintel mount Predator style. Or =I= Covenant style if you prefer.
I tried a conversion of a SM character with two handed thunder hammer and shoulder pintel bolt pistol. It didnt work, but only becasuse I couldnt model a decent two handed hammer conversion. The pintel mount worked out ok.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Posted By beef on 03/05/2007 8:14 AM That Guy who does the Ravener ?? series was also going to be there to sign copies of his new book but that was later in the afternoon and I did not stick around for that as I had not read the books. Dan Abnett? I would have stuck around to meet him and get my copy of Tactica Imperialis signed if I had been there.

Thats the guy, I would have but 3 reasons stopped me, firstly I was on night shifts so I needed to get home and get a few hours sleep before I went back to work. 2nd was that I have bnever read anything by this guys so did not see the point in getting him to sign anything ( although now I think about it i should have got him to sign his book and sold it on ebay, actaully I did think that but could not really be bothered with waiting there for a few hours more till he turned up). 3rd some of the staff and the people there were starting to scare me with their over excitement of the new foundation paints (which were not that great)

Posted By beef on 03/05/2007 10:33 AM Correct epsom as for the Sept thing with codex Chaos Jervais said we would know about it by then so he could have just meant we would get a date by then or it might be done by then so what Gorgan says is correct. Dang...I would have gone to that if I'd know about it. What's the new store like?

He's a good author. If you're interested in the fluff of the 40K universe, I'd definitely read a few of the Guant's Ghost books.

Hmm, not familiar with it. I've only started reading 40K novels fairly recently though. Maybe someone else can chip in and help.
(Gaunt's Ghosts, Ravenor, and Eisenhorn seem to be his best known 40K works.)

He's also written one of the curent series of Horus Heresy books can't remeber the title. I've read a couple of his 40k books. Best 40k author I've read (out of half a dozen authors I've sampled).
