It's a one sentence piece of fluff. Trying to play it as overriding the restrictions within the ATSKNF rule proper is not going to win you any friends.

Thanks for your opinion, but i'm not here trying to win friends, this is a debate. I dont have my SM book in front of me, and will check when I get home, but I didnt get the impression it was fluff.

Its in the rules section telling you how LMS tests work for Marines, thats about all I can say.


Would be easier if GW put some restrictions on where you found fluff in their rules, I prefer nowhere near the actual rules pages.

The two rules contradict. No one wins.

Which is especially true if someone tries to start an argument, or even a debate, over it in the middle of a game.

Actually, by your very wording, it does imply that they ignore ALL restrictions, so being within 6" of enemy and those things do not apply.

Course, the actual ATSKNF rule spells out that the other restrictions do apply....................And without ATSKNF, a marine taking a LMS test wouldn't  be able to rally anyways, so...................

 

Here's how I see it, LMS test, pass, good to go, fail, fall back, automatically rally at the beginning of your NEXT turn assuming no enemy within 6".
