I hope Space Hulk gets redone; its the the reason I really got into 40k. Unfortunately I don't think we'll se it done, I don't think they can do the corridors and rooms without just being PDFs... but then whats the point.

Warhammer Quest would be pretty cool, and supportable with the current range of minis. The game tiles again might be an issue.

GW could honestly make the game tiles for both in a similar fashion as the moevement trays are made.

I think Gorka Morka is deffinitely easily supported especially with new Orks stuff.

I would buy a Mighty Empires type box of plastic Space Hulk tiles, as long as you got a somewhat decent value out of it.

I have the old WHQ set, or I'd say that goes double for WHQ tiles. I'd still be tempted, depending on cost.

I've recently bought Space Hulk 2nd edition on ebay and I'm loving it. 1st ed looks too complicated, too many tables.
I was considering buying the Space corridor system from http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/CTGY/CS
but i think i was getting carried away by the prospect of painting up my own hulk...
that and i love the blips they have! check them out

But I think i'll wait and see now... if GW made plastic hulk tiles, like the Cities of death buildings... that would be heaven!

IIRC, Jervis once said they lost all the design files for the rooms when they moved to their new HQ. So they couldn't reprint them even if the cost wasn't so prohibitive.

That strikes me as a little far fetched in this day and age. All they'd need to do is scan the tiles in again off an existing copy.

Supposedly. This was said about Space Hulk as well for their excuse not to reprint the game. The image files were lost.

Well, if they were ever really infact lost, then they found them again, because they are touting space hulk for the current 4th ed rules.
Tiles are here: http://uk.games-workshop.com/warhammer40000/space-hulk/12/

The rest of the 4th edition space hulk Kill-team rules are here: http://uk.games-workshop.com/warhammer40000/space-hulk/1/

My take: Gorkamorka and Space Hulk, obviously.

Both game have miniatures truly compatible with current 40K version and require minimal investment. Gorkamorka needs only an online rulebook, and Space Hulk corridors can easily been delivered in simple PDF format. Just expect side factions (mutants, half-breed stealers) to disappear from the rules.

I don't believe GW can bring back a game not fully compatible with one of its core game. Not in 2007.

It doesn't work that way. They'll never end up looking right. They'll be blurry, and the colors will be off.

Sorry, I don't buy that.

They can do high-quality scans of the floor tiles, and use them to produce new ones.

See, what's funny is that for a second I did because having only looked at PP's red avatar on a black background, I somehow assumed it was Brimstone.

My money's on Gorkamorka and Space Hulk. The former has been asked for time and again, and I'm pretty sure Space Hulk, too, has its aficionados. I understand most of those aficionados prefer 1E SH, though, since it had more supplements.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Obviously it doesn't really matter, since Hellfury just linked to the tiles on the GWUK website.

And also, HBMC is right. They most certainly could do high quality scans and everything would be just fine. Plus if there were problems they could easily touch everything up in Photoshop or something similar.

Take a look at the Art of Warhammer 40K. You can totally tell which pieces were scanned from printed material, and which are from originals. Or, at least, I can.

I'd love to get my paws on Warhammer Quest, but the cost right now is absurd.

Having said that, Gorkamorka makes sense with the new Orks, and Space Hulk is classic.

Your superior powers of observation notwithstanding, I'd argue the Space Hulk floor tiles are less detailed than your average John Blanche piece.

Eh, good point. It's not like we'll have our face up close to the tiles, the way we would with a book.

I don't think so. They already have Necromunda and Blood Bowl as "supported" Specialist Games. The Vault is for other games, which they have no interest in supporting or expanding, but want to make available for players.

Does that mean they're all in the vault now? Which ones are they 'supporting' at the moment?

Space Hulk and Dark future are my two 'requests'.

I've been playing 1st edition Space hulk recently, it's a brilliant game.

I was in Woolworths the other day and I noticed that die-cast toy cars are £1 each, It made me want to play Dark future again.

The main "Specialist Games," which receive rules support and have special miniatures:
Battlefleet Gothic
Battle of Five Armies
Blood Bowl
Epic
Inquisitor
Mordheim
Necromunda
Warmaster

The games in the Fanatic Games Vault, which, thus far, have been smaller in scope and stand on their own:
Street Bowl
Dungeon Bowl
Pit Fighter
Blood Bowl 7s
Bommerz over da Sulpher River
Brewhouse Bash
Adeptus Titanicus (3rd edition)

Here's the latest update on this evolving situation, from Andy Hall:

Today Christmas has come early! In conjunction with main Games Workshop site, you can now download the complete Battle for Armageddon board game for free. Yes, the strategic board game of Ghazghkull’s first attempt at invading Armageddon is now available to download from the Games Variant page here. Or you can simply click on this link to start downloading now. Be warned though, it’s a large file even in zipped form, so broadband users only! The file you’ll download is a folder containing PDFs and Jpegs with full instructions on how to print off and assemble your game.

Chaos Attack, the supplement to battle for Armageddon will be online soon.

Do not forget that downloading any of our resources from this site means you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by Games Workshop's online Terms of Use policy.

Enjoy. I have an even bigger goody for you next week!

it's Dark Future

Wasn't Dark Future, like, 20mm? Hrmn. Even so, I've got a pile of toy cars that need to be 'kustomized'...
