what back lines? the reapers? Hmmm I see anything getting close enough to assault getting shot.

Looking at your original list I'd say at least drop the dire avengers for guardian squads with bright lances or EML. Everyone and their sister wet their pants over bladestorm which IMO is junk. Dire Avengers are almost the worst unit point for point in the eldar codex IMO. And it's really hard to justify taking dark reapers anyway over a falcon, which is the best eldar unit point for point.

Dire Avengers aren't a point for point unit, they're a combined arms unit. 177 points gets you a shooty squad with a power weapon that holds its own in assault. March em up the table and giver.

For 15 points, Bladestorm is just a bonus. They're one of the few units that complements Wave Serpents and you can fleet them first turn or late game to position yourself.

Just imo of course. But I've had success with them, running them along side Guardians. Note that I wouldn't use them in a static firepower list, or a list that is as close to static firepower as Eldar get.

And point for point they do just fine. Altho it's true that they are 100% pure basic infantry killers.

With good deployment, you'll start 36" apart. And with good terrain placement that'll be all open, except for the forest or building that you are sitting in. Against most armies that'll be sufficient. A space marine commander on a bike with 2+ armor will soak a lot of firepower and could make it to the reapers, so could a 2+ armor flying Hive tyrant. Even well played harlequins can do it, if they are lucky (I know how much love you have for those guys) None of those 3 units just mentioned are unreasonable even in friendly games. But lets say yah ghost the primary threat, the rest of a space marine army or nids army going suicidial on the same turn, leaves more h2h than Maugan can handle if they can get within charge range or rapid fire range.

NM it wouldn't be very easy to get in there would it?

In this particular army, you can indeed get into the reapers past Maugen Ra; but at what cost?

At 1500 points, most armies don't have heavy assault capabilities.

Assuming Maugen Ra can hold your assault for even a few assault phases, it's likely the reapers will have done their work. There is of course the rest of the army also shooting at you...while they aren't great at CC, there are quite a few speedbumps you can insert into someones way if you have to.
