Modelling figures to benefit you in one way, but get screwed in another, is not lame. Making a huge looted wagon isn't alme, as it makes it a very expensive shield. And if you go to the trouble of making three, more the better.
And it looks way better without the wall.

sorry for being so negative. here is my greatest ever idea for a scorcha buggy. i just leangthened the barrel a little bit and added a bend in the tubing. this way i can be almost a foot from my target and i can put the buggy BEHIND cover so that when i fire my foe wont have a chance to shoot back, since it states clearly that sometimes " all that may be visible is an antennae or some other minor part. in these cases LOS is considered blocked." Great idea huh. and very orky to boot.

Maybe you should read the entire Thread before posting a comment? Maybe when GW gets of It's Arse and makes me a looted wagon I won't have to make my own.

sorry you didnt like my scorcha konversion. thing is... some of my freinds take the whole modeling to your advantage thing a little to far. really its not in the spirit of the game to make a mobile wall or to try to find every loophole in the rules so that you have an unfair advantage.
as for modeling a looted wagon i can give you some really quick, cheap and easy konversion tips. all you need are insulation foam, thin cardboard like cereal box, wood glue, some wire nails and some bitz from either the dollar store or your bitz box.
1. shape insulation foam into the desired shape of the vehicle.
2. cut plates from the cardboard and use the wire nails to tac the cardboard onto the outside of the insulation foam. the ends of the nails look like rivets and they hold the card in place.
3. add bitz like wheels and grills salvaged from dollar store vehicles and your bitz box.
4. paint the cardboard and any foam that is still exposed with wood glue to seal it and help secure it in place.
5. paint.
the attatched pic is of one such creation. they are very easy to make, cheap and a lot of fun to make. good luck

#1 that wagon is sick and much bigger then my wall I'll wager.... lol good stuff.
#2 I was not trying to bend the rules or model something that would do so. We play that you can not shoot over a vehicle period. So I could have glued 10 match box cars together and had the same effect as a wall.....I just thought the wall was funnier lol
#3 this is a game wherein I can use my imagination to create things that are a little different then most people have like your battle wagon
#4 I'm sorry the tactic of using a screen of vehicles got squewed into lets make a cheap cheat a$$ vehicle.

Your finished wagons look great. I highly approve.
As an aside, you are playing the LOS rules incorrectly if you apply size to anything other than area terrain or close combats. Everthing else, including vehicles, uses real line of sight. As a result, your new wagons serve their purpose extremely well, are appropriately Orky, and are not cheesy at all.
Nice job on your conversions.

Even with the newer versions, you're walking an awfully thin line between "commonly acceptable" and "cheese".
I'd be careful.

For a looted waggon:
A) it's shorter then a landraider in both width and lenght
B) I made it no taller then a landriader
C) It looks Kool
D) there is no guidlines or criteria for the size of a looted waggon
E) I walk the line

I once wanted to do a VDR vehicle almost like a wall. Super heavy vehicle, 100 Bolters and spanning 3 feet in length across the table, with a single space in the middle for assaulting troops to run through. This was for a event to bring the most rediculous VDR vehicle. Regardless still cheesey.

Thanks NewHeretic, I've Tried hard to make them "commonly acceptable" but still serve the purpose I built them for.

We thought of something similar. The Black Box of Doom. Was essentially a tissue box on tracks painted black. I don' t even think we gave it any weapons, it was just something to hide behind and piss off your opponent.

PUT THE WALLS BACK ON! They looked just like what a mekboy would make for the job. Warboss goes to the big mek and says, "you dere make me some tings that move to hide behind till i'm close enough to krump em" Mekboy goes and asks the enemy how tall his wall can be just to be fair? Hell no he makes them as tall as he can get em and still have a moving vehicle. I ran 3 looted rhinos in my old list wish I'd seen your post then.
A. The orignal vehicles were not cheesy or lame.
(they are exactly what a mekboy would make when told to make a moving wall)
B. I'm stealing your idea for my looted wagons. (means I'll have to make several as sometimes I actually hide the looted wagons with the tankbusta/burna's BEHIND the truks.)
C. I plan on using an old truk for my nobs mob because it's much smaller and easy to hide. (Low rider)
D. Making a model with a 6 inch barrel IS cheesy! I wouldn't do it and I will make fun of anyone who does. (mostly because the guy doing the shooting is more then 6" in terrain and therefore he has no line of sight)
Thanks for the great idea

I did not like the "model a big wall" tactic. The current ones though are very cool and orky. I would invest the points to give them each some weapon so they have something to destroy on a weapon destroyed result.
