It wasn't free, but one of the best mini hauls I ever made was like 2002 or something when my Outrider buddy let me in on his order for stuff at a Games Day at the special Outrider prices. Any bitz you wanted at something like $0.05 a gram
IIRC- whatever the exact price, it was half what they charged regular
GD attendees, but more importantly you could order specific things in advance that would be set aside with your name on them (well, my friend's name), and no limit on what you could order.
So, I got an entire Eldar
BFG fleet of like 3000 or so points in bitz form, plus 20 escorts for EACH of my Imperial and Chaos fleets for something like $40. I'm probably getting the exact figure wrong- all I remember is it was insanely cheap, like 80% or more off what it would cost to buy normally.
On top of which, the other part of the Outrider deal was they could actually get Forge World stuff at a discount- it was only 15 or 20%, but considering I've never heard of
FW stuff being discounted anywhere else, still cool. So I threw on like 3 each of the
FW light cruisers to that Eldar fleet, plus some other stuff I don't remember.
