Yes, the line starts at the serpent's head in the left hand, follows his body down to the Emperor's feet and then back up to his tail in the right hand. That is what the 'V' I drew on follows.

Great in this context, but can you tell me what Jesus v.5 could mean?

If that's what you call "seeing" it, then sure. I've "seen" it all along. And by "seen," I mean that I saw three circles in a pattern that could somehow resemble a "v" if they were solid and in a different color.

Why does the cover even need a V or 5 on it?

It is not a V or a 5, it is a mutated 8 being the sign of Chaos.

Interesting, Schepp. Large snakes and a muscular man strangling them isn't what I would normally associate with that. GW one-ups me with their symbolism once again.

I "get" where the V is supposed to be, but I think it's a pretty ridiculous aesthetic stretch. Unless GW is all of a sudden going with extreme (x2) subtlety in their art.
I think if they were going to put a V on the book to allude to 5th edition (Roman numerals, lol!) they would have simply put a V, like the IV they put on the skull (surprise!) on 4th edition.

My Vagina comment was a nod to Pucifer. Don't worry the homoerotic imagery with still reign supreme in 40k...

Is that the Emperor wrestling with the many heads of the Hydra that is the Alpha Legion?
For the Emperor!

the warrior definately has wings, as well as a halo and holding a couple of snakes, while standing in flames. do you think it's purposeful that there are 12 spikes and a spikey skull around the shield which i think also makes it unsymmetrical, and what looks like different designs at the base of each spike, in the circles.
I love the red. It makes me think of slaughter, bloodshed and vampire horror movies

I saw a V too, but elsewhere, and was taken aback that just about everyone else sees the V differently because I didnt see a V in the shield at all.
I see the V in the smoke behind. The left side with the grey sky and red smoke, mirrored with the darker red smoke on the right hand side. Especially this as the smoke at the top mimics the V from a roman typescript font.
The lighting between just beneath the Hammerhead and the lighting near the hammers base complete the V shape.
