Why would they make it compatible with a model that:

A). They didn't make.
B). Has been out of production for years.

BYE

Its not that Forgworld should make it compatible, they should not make it deliberately incomptible. There is a subtle difference. GW in all its guises has had a long history of disavowing old stiock. Or have you forgotten Griffons so readily.

I find is suspicious to say the least that while most Forgewolrd stuff is grossly overpointed, they chose to make the new Reaver more powerful than previous editions, and cut the points against all their trends so that it was less than the listing on Bell of Lost Souls.

When I am taling about previous editions, forget Armorcast. I am not talking about that. I am talking about Epic, Armorcast merely mirrored Epic. Forgeworld are saying definitively that you cannot arm a Reaver with weapons found on epic Reavers, its in effect a completely new titan under an old name. The only reason for this huge retcon is to snub Armorcast titan owners.

If you play Epic today you will find the titans sold, including one of the two sold by Forgeworld has armament incompatible with the new Forgweworld rules. The standard official default armament for a Mars pattern Reaver titan is - according to Jervis - an Apocalypse missile launcher and two twin-barreled turbo lasers. All the Warhound level atrmament is valid for Reaver titan arm mounts in every version of Epic including the official rules today.

This isnt 'Rogue Trader' era, the model is, but the rules are up to date.

I think even GW has forgotten the Griffon, it was easily the most hideous IG vehicle they ever made. Frankly, FW not making the AC titans compatible with their rules is such an infinitesimal nuisance that any reasonable person would simply gloss over it. Game balance for Apocalypse rules is not a feasible notion anyway, so unrestricting the weapons should cause no ill effects.

For what it's worth, in comparison to the BOLS version, the FW version also has 1 extra point of rear armor and can fire carapace weapons 6" closer. The experimental rules will probably change when IA6 comes out, they have a tendency to do that.

If you're playing Epic today, it's also worth a note that one of the Reavers and one of the Warhounds sold by Forgeworld have weapon variants that are not allowed to the official Epic army lists, with the exception of the "experimental" Titan Legions armylist.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

That sums up my reasons for buying this stuff as well.
The money I got nearly exacly pays for the new Reaver.

That's my plan too. I'm sure between Armorcast models and some assorted rarities I've got packed away, this guy shouldn't affect my bank account too much.

Exactly. I basically exhanged two AC reavers (of six that I accumulated over the years) for one FW one. The other four are being sold too, cause they are worth two to three times as much now as what they once were.

I'm not a fan of the missile launcher. Everything else seems good though.

Agreed.

IMO this model (while nice) isn't worth half of what they are asking.

Given their past track record that I have had with them, even if it was the first model out of the mold, I am sure I will have not only a miscast, but pieces of blue mold shipped along with that model.

You don't need much space to write "I wanna be a Warlord Titan when I grow up" and "My other ride is a Emperor Class Battleship! NYAH!".
