agreed, it's somewhat satisfying being able to mass pelt a Land Raider with Gauss Rifles and get those magic

I have played with lighting field several times. Since it only works with unsaved wounds, it only pays off when you have lost enough models to be a non contender in the combat anyway. Its really not worth it.

I agree totaly with that statement, it needs to be 'all wounds' not just unsaved ones. Either that or it would make an interesting squad upgrade for Flayed ones or (dare I say it) Pariahs, not just for Lords

i'd chip out 30pts on the Lightning Field if its was activated on all CC wounds..

not sure on the flayd one idea, but somehow it suits Pharaihs.. perhaps it would make them more popular?

i was thinking of some fluff I read about necrons vs Eldar in the 'War in the heavens' (necron version) where the necrons are all emmiting electriacl charges instead of gauss, and figured it might be something to put into the game one day. After all it doesn't seem worth only the Lord being able to buy it, and then needing to be in a squad to get all its effects to really pay off
