I think the current rumors of getting a discount for trading in your 4th edition rules or showing your Rogue Trader book are the best in recent years.
If I show my squat or Lost and Damned army can I get a Spase Demonz army for free?

A store clerk in 'nati back in 2000 claimed that a FOAF (friend of a friend) wasn't allowed to play in a tournament with his old 1st-2nd ed. orks. He also claimed that Black Tree Designs had gone out of business, and the future was Target Games' Warzone.
Plastic Cadians? That's a pipe dream, like a plastic baneblade.
Pan Fo. Reviled. Now.
Other wacky rumors over the years: Ultramarines would split with the Imperium, Hasbro was going to buy GW, Starship Troopers was the Great White Hope, and anyone cared about Space Hulk/Blood Bowl/Necromunda/whatever.
|
Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.
I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |

Yeah that was a whole long thing, Ultramarines are fed up with Imperial corruption and split off to make their own realm, Blood Angels fall to chaos, Imperial civil war, etc, etc.
Never came to anything. Would be a fun novel or campaign if it didn't use two of the big 4 chapters.
Then there was one that GW sort of started.
It went Dragon is the 4th Ctan, he was imprisoned on Mars by Ferros Manos, the Necrons would raid Mars to free him and there would be war on terra.
There was like a short bit of BFG fluff about Necrons infiltrating Terra but nothing more came of it.

Oh, not to mention Alpharius having a twin brother and the Alpha Legion actually being loyal to the Emperor even though they pretend to be on the side of Chaos!
Seriously - who'd even start a rumor that dumb....

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack |

With the new production facility, they are actually going back to the old Rhinos since they are easier to put together.

Actully, at my local the manager said that if you bring in your Rogue Trader rulebook he may 'consider' giving you $5 off.
He said it'd be fun just to see if he could get a game of Rouge Trader happening on release day.
As for rumours, I keep hearing about plastic sisters. Red Shirts even told me the Four Horsemen would deliver it to the stores.
