Big fan of the Pig Iron heads here too. I am thinking of making a few Armored Fist units for my Inquisitors out of Cadians with Pig Iron Gas masks.
Now, if I could get great coat guards for those heads, I would be in hog heaven. Or perhaps even Pig Iron heaven.

While Valkyries are cool, I *really* wish they would redo the old metal scults (rough riders, ratlings) first. Those units never get played, because nobody has the models!

Valkyries are like the new SM drop-pod kits. Every kid on the block will have 5 of them, and won't know how to play with them. that = free wins for me!

Nobody plays ratlings because the unit sucks! And while sniper rifles get rending in 5E, with the nerf to rending, they still won't be worth taking.

rending is on the roll to wound now and not the roll to hit.

Rending changed 2 ways:

1. Rending happens when you roll a 6 on the wound, not the hit.

2. Rending adds d3 to the vehicle pen roll. (Not sure about this one)

ah .. oh well.. But then as far as snipers go, always hitting on 2+ rending might not be that bad.. or did I read that it's based on BS to hit now?

More specifically, snipers use their regular BS to hit. So a IG sniper will need a 4+

What are you guys talking about ugly cadian head. I love the full cadian look. Otherwise they look all mismatchy.

well at least the ratlings are BS4.. I doubt I'd ever take a normal guard sniper, they go in special weapon squads and for squad like that I'd rather they had plasmas or meltas or a demo charge and were able to move around a bit

That sux. Totally ruins fluff behind a sniper rifle. Other than they still wound the same. Now ratlings REALLY suck.

From what I hear from my buddies, is that it is a plastic Valkyrie, but they are changing the rules for it. It will be a skimmer transport vehicle not a flyer anymore as the game would be unbalanced. IG will be redone in the next year or so if I remember right. They will be changing how the platoons work. Instead of just the HQ platoon being the only one to have support squads I hear that every platoon will be able to. Also to be more realistic I hear that from now on everybody not just IG will be fully equipped so no more thinking about giving them grenades they automatically have them. As well as everyone coming with frag and krak grenades they will all have close combat weapons as well. Leman Russes will be able to be fielded in squadrons like in apocalpyse games for 1 HV slot.

Making the Valk a skimmer transport is fine.

I can't wait for it to come out, as it finally means my Inquisition army's main-line troops (6 10-man Storm Trooper Squads) won't have to 'share' the Chimeras with my MechInf Company. They'll all get upgraded to Valks.

Then, if things go as they should, GW will either do a combined Valk/Vult kit, or FW will make a conversion kit that invovles no resin wings whatso ever, as to avoid their main horrible miscasting problems.

Valkyrie and Vulture in the same kit will be a tough task, do people even look at both models for comparison? Sure the cockpits look alike but everything after that is different.

And that stops them from making them how?

It's not like the model has to be a carbon copy of the FW model. The Baneblade wasn't.

If you look at the Valkyrie and Vulture carefully, there is considerable overlap with identical parts:
- cockpits
- spars
- wings
The only differences are the central hull (with engines) and the rear stabilizers.

If GW does a plastic Valkyrie, the incremental effort to do a Vulture is minimal. The difference amounts to one sprue out of 3.

The only question is timing, kind of like how the Vindicator lagged the Rhino.

Roughriders get new models in September. For some reason they're in the new SM release, and called "Scout Bikes..."

Truth. I can't wait to get my hands on these! My IG in-progress are looking forward to some counter-charge goodness.

I play with ratlings, and I don't think they suck. They even pitch in during CC in emergencies, and tend to win!

I'm thinkin about making cadian snipers out of the scouts. Maybe I'll just bitz order the arms form bwbitz. I could see me using em in bigger apocalypse games but I dunno that I could fit em in a normal game.. I kinda like the half troops half tanks lists I've been doing lately.
