So are they going to bank on the fact that little Johnny and Stevie are more apt to go halfsies on a 90 dollar set?
"Hey, if one kid is going to pay $50 for one starter set, then two will pay $45 each for one starter set and split the contents; brilliant!"
Then it should be touted as a 2-player starter set and include 2 mini-rulebooks.
I know someone, somewhere has and advanced orders sheet with the price on it, post it and put this rumor to rest.

Don't forget that these are all "snap-tite" figures and not the regular "hobby" figures that we're all used to. That Terminator squad might look nice at first but most people won't want more than one of them anyway because they can't really do anything with them without a whole lot more work than they're probably worth. Same for the Warboss and Deathcoptas.
Seriously, how many of the last starter set did you guys buy in an effort to make your army?

None. I don't play bugs. And I had plenty enough SM minis along with the hardback rulebook ordered on discount.
For the new starter, I don't play greenskins, have plenty enough Dreads, and am interested in the hardback rulebook again.
So for me, it's easier to order any starter models as bitz.

Nah, it only took me 15 seconds to find this: http://www.liquidgeneration.com/Media/Games/Action_Arcade/Shooting/Evil_Care_Bears/
Then wasted 45 minuets playing it.

. . .to you (you should add).
As with any review, be it for books, movies, TV, games, etc. If you don't agree with the base ideals of the reviewer the review isn't going to be of any use to you, but that doesn't mean the review isn't useful to others who may be more sympathetic to the reviewer's ideals.
Actually, I disagree. Anything that serves to encourage the us-vs-them mentality and the 'one right way to play' mentality that demonizes anyone who likes to play differently is not a good thing for the 40k community as a whole. It only divides the community rather than fosters it.

So visited my local GW today and they very much confirmed the starter set will go for 60 bucks. I hope GW knows what they're doing. I look forward to getting a lot of models and a mini rule book for cheaaap on ebay after all those people who buy 2-5 starter boxes each try to get rid of their excess stuff.

It’s good when you’re reviewing something to show your point of view, to give the reader a better idea of your take on the subject. If I was reviewing The Ring and didn’t like the Japanese style, I should probably point that out.
Which is all good and well, so if someone was to review 5th ed 40K it’s good if they want to point out they don’t play in really competitive manner. He didn’t need to attack those kinds of players, but it’s a review on AICN, what do you expect?

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Honestly this starter kit holds less for me than the last one. The last one had the shuttle (awesome!), plus heaps of Tyranids. Ain't nothing better than 2 piece Gaunts, plus plastic Spore Mines.
I ended up trading to get another set of Tyranids, then bought two more sets of Spore Mines as well.
This new one? Well, I don't play Orks, and I have thousand upon thousands of points of Marines. That said, I love the new Commander, want the Dread, and it doesn't hurt to have a few extra Terminators. I know a friend of mine'll probably buy two for the Orks (plus it bulks his new Marine force as well), so I might just buy the extra bits from him.
Odd as it sounds (especially coming from me), but I'm more interested in the hardback because of all the new fluff in it.

The talk about low vehicles and infantry modeled to be crawling reminds me of the crouching Eldar Wraithlord I saw once in a long ago White Dwarf. The thing reminded me of Elvis in one of his Las Vegas shows.
A quick way to address the whole crawling thing could be,in game terms, to say low crawlers move at about quarter speed compared to a model on it's feet.

Ain't that the truth. I often disagreed with him on the R forums as well.
His blurb about the game was a fun read, and it pretty much coincides with what folks have been saying about 5th ed in my area. I admit, I am caught-up in the buzz he talks about surrounding 5th ed's release. Nothing to be ashamed of, in my opinion.
I don't agree with some of his generalizations, and of course, it IS AINC, afterall. There are cheeseheads in every game. Warhammer being the biggest for a long time, simply drew the most attention in this regard, I think.
I actually got the most laughs from some of the tards that responded to him, though.
Thanks for the heads-up on this article.

Is there a lot of new background in it?
New as in "advancing the storyline" new, and not just a throwaway "Oh no, the Golden Throne in doomed, and the party line to Macragge is busy!" stuff.
I hope there is a lot of new stuff, and not just recycled/reworded stuff!
I'm leaning towards the Hardback only too, with any starter set miniature purchases coming of off eBay and the like.
