Sorry about the slowness,
I have an exam pretty soon (and I didn't like the way the bases came out on the last marines)

Just in case, LordRavurion: I would have drilled out the barrels (but not the exhaust, too much trouble for something I don't like the look of) but I couldn't find my drill, I may sadly have to buy a new one!!

Here are a couple of the stuff that I have that is done (well the models, I still have to decide how I'm goiing to flock the bases).

If anyone is wondering why I don't have any robes on the bikes, it's because I have another unit that is going to be all in robes (going to get both up to around 5 each - I have another 25 biker bodies so I think I can do that!!)

The guy in the winged helm was the first of this Dark Angel amry really (the reason why I started this particular army really)

I hope you enjoy.

This unit really was just for fun, they are not very practical, but I wanted to use the storm sheilds

Great painting!

Just a thought:
Is it me or is that commander staring at his sword?

Keep it up anyway!

they look cool, but I personally wouldn't have highlighted them quite so brightly.. It's like they're the iridescent angels, not the dark angels, lol

Mekboy: Ha! The photo makes it look that way, but he is looking past the sword (infront of it), I just didn't like the plain looking forward pose that is generally used (and with only 1 part that really can change I thought I should at least do that)

Mandude: Yeah they are a little bright, but eh (they were not meant to be regular Dark Angels so I can't say I mind that much)

I really like the very extreme highlighting with the green. Good work.

The DA sprue comes with a couple of little wings made to fit onto a marine helmet.

What's rules does the unit with all the shields use?

Our own rules.

So far they've proven to be... very expensive.

Vuron & JD: Thanks, the brighter green grew on me as well (I definately preferred the darker theme at first - Which is why I am changing the colour of the one's I had previously painted)

Aduro: Yeah the wings are the ones on the DA sprue, I have a few left so I'm going to make a unit (maybe just 5 models) all with the wings being led by the one pictured above.

As for the rules, they are a legal veteran unit (as far as I'm aware) but they completely and utterly suck in gaming terms as they are SO!!! many points it is ridiculous.

5 storm shields, 3 plas pistols on veterans (Yay, 5 wounds!!)

Makaleth - Are you planning in doing any Assault Squads in this scheme? Would you do it with or without robes?

And where's that Dread you said you were painting?

HBMC: The dread is barely been started and yes I will do an Assault Squad, but that is in the distant future (as I want to paint what I have before buying more, and you know how much that is!!)

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Love the painting , makes the robes look like velvet. Great work all round . Although I'm a traditionalist and think the armour should be dark green and only termies bone white . I know one day I'll get athsma from too much fluff. And if the bikes are not black then they can't be part of the ravenwing , in the old rules they wouldn't get the advantage of being an expert rider , ( can't remember the rule now, its late and I just finished a 12 hour shift) . I don't think thats in the new rules though . Hey vanilla is the new black !

i know mate, why do well equipped decent looking squads have to cost 300+ points for 5 models? lol, plan was to make 10, untill i worked out thier points, may go for 10 and drop the jump packs

The army as a whole is very well painted - but your storm shield vets just scream "infinite badass". Bravo!

I love the vets matter of fact I love the entire army AND the concept. The only critique I have (And it really isnt one, more like a suggestion) the green highlights are very bright. Maybe do a thinned DA green + Goblin Green, then pure golin on the very edges. It's just one of those things that would bring a nice looking army to another level.

but still, fantastic work

0h that army is something special.

its rare for a customised dark angels to pull of a scheme like that as well as you do. the models look so simply elegent and dignified and i really like your style of painting love to see more

If I may make a suggestion...
For the biker with the plasmagun, magnetize his weapon arm and make a spare one with a meltagun.

Always fun to "one shot, one kill" some heavy vehicles, and those bikes are gonna be up close anyway.

Me and the boys at Team Anarchy have gone magnet crazy...

Azmo: I think I may do that for the rest (I may even snap off the 2 one's that I have done already)

BDA: Not as long as that high elf army (EVERY SINGLE GEM!!) Marines are so quick in comparison it sometimes feels like cheating.
