But then, nor does he need the wage of the Western Middle Class.

Everything is a lot cheaper in India, which means you need less money to become relatively wealthy, in that you have all the luxuries you need etc..

India and China could, only could, be considered Britain and America during the Victorian Era. The middle classes are getting wealthy, manufacturing is booming, and there is a greater awareness of the poverty faced by many. Will something be done? Time will tell.

"I was for the debate before I was against the debate before I was for it", essentially.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

He really didn't have a choice here. The media was far too quick to pounce on the absurdity of his 'campaign suspension' for him to justifiably miss the debate.

Though the fact that this isn't going to be pushed back means there will still be a VP debate...that's going to be a fun one.

Fun like watching a trainwreck, involving all the people you hate most in the world, after you took out massive insurance on them and the train... except less money.

Actually I'm looking forward to tonight. It'll be quite interesting to see how McCain gets around his interventionist foreign policy in light of the economic crisis.

They've watered down the format so there is less interaction (so the MM reports). Expectations will be so low that if Palin doesn't vomit and become incontinent, it'll be a 'strong showing'. After her interview though...lol..I'm shocked they are letting her out in public.

No, he doesn't need the wage of the middle class to live pretty well. But people were suggesting the Indians and Chinese could pick up the consumer demand slack left by recession in the US, and that's where absolute buying power becomes important. I was just pointing out they can't pick up the slack.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Too true. The whole time watching that I couldn't help but imagine Putin sitting in giant leather chair, sipping vodka, stroking a fluffy white cat, and laughing maniacally.

That would make Sarah as Penny and John McCain as the bumbling Inspector Gadget.

I wouldn't want to slight Penny.

Is this more american slang ?

I see McCain and palin more like Clouseau and Kato.

But, you know, not as endearing.

That picture is 101% pure win Mr. AgeofEgos.

It's a sign of the modern decline in standards. Even the snakes are sub par.

Heh, no doubt. He certainly does have a Bond villian charisma about him....but Palin sounds like she wants to party like it's 1985 .

Thanks but I can't claim credit....I mined that gem from Fark. Everytime a Palin thread starts up I grab a beer .
